Have an AR for Morocco. Thinking of skipping it and going to the Tangierine cafe instead. Take the food and watch the show outside. Is the food at Marakesh wonderful? think i'll be missing out?

I prefer the counter service to the table service. The food tastes alot better at the cafe

I also prefer the counter service to the table service. I would eat at Tangerine Cafe before Marrakesh.

never had the table service, but I thought the counter service food was excelent. It was the best CS meal we had all week.

we prefer tangeriene cafe over the restaurant

DH is also happier sitting outside on the patio there by the CS

We've been eating at Disney (oh, we go on rides occasionally, also) for several years now, and have always missed Marrakesh for one reason or another.

We finally made it there two weeks ago, and we loved it! We'd never even been inside before, but it's a great restaurant with tons of atmosphere, and one of the best meals on our trip. The music was great, the belly dancer was fun, and everyone liked what they ordered (tangine, beef kabob, chicken kabob).

I highly recommend trying Marrakesh.

COunt me in as another who preferes Tangerine Cafe to Marrakesh. The TC is actually one of my favorites in Epcot. We've done Marrakesh once, and frankly weren't nearly as impressed as we thought we would be.

Blessings!
Mark

I've been to both and prefer the counter service. Imho, it's the best counter service in WDW!

I have eaten at both. But really I think tangerine is better. I was not crazy about the food at Marrakesh. Also the tables were really close together and it is kinda crowded inside.

I have to agree with the majority and say that I prefer Tangerine Cafe greatly over Marrakesh. We did both on our last trip and I was so not impressed with Marrakesh. The restaurant is beautiful and the belly dancing is cool but the service was bad and I didn't like the food at all. I had the lamb shank with couscous which sounded all exotic and exciting but tasted like pot roast. I expected something a lot better. I know absolutely nothing about Moroccan cuisine, but the TC schwarma platter had a whole lot more taste going for it.

My DH is a veggie, he LOVES the vegetarian platter at the Tangerine Cafe. The Morocco inexplicably doesn't list a vegetarian dinner - and he hates requesting 'special' meals.

I'm also always very happy with what I get at Tangerine Cafe - it's one of my faves in EPCOT.

You sure about that? Every time I have been to Marrakesh (and I assume that's what you mean by "The Morocco" the vegetable cous cous was always available :confused3

We like both for totally different reasons. Dining in Marrakesh is absolutely awesome (theming, entertainment) and the Cafe is good as well. We sometimes do both in the same trip.

I def. think it's the best in Epcot. (I'll always have a soft spot for Pecos Bill's in MK. :) ) I could never understand why the food was so different from Marrakesh (where it's bland, boring, awkward, and cold) and Tangerine Cafe (where it's lovely, fresh, delicious, plentiful, mouthwatering... :cloud9: you get the picture). This is just one girl's opinion, but I don't want to ever go back to Marrakesh when I know I can get amazingly good food right there at Tangerine Cafe.

never been to either one, but have an ADR for marrakesh on dec 21st.

Is marrakesh's food bad or Tangerine is simply better for most people here?

Generally, I have found the CS cafes at each country to be a nice representation of what can, usually, be found in greater scope and detail at the sit-down TS restaurants.

Also, being a big fan of Mediterranean Arabic foods, I have found Morocco to be a good representation of that genre.

Having said all of that, I think TC is a better value and a better venue. I would rather sample the good examples found there at lower prices, than pay more for the food inside, which is only marginally different. There just is not so much of a difference in the offerings (like there is between, say, YCF&C and R&C at UK).

Yes, both are good and worth having. But, for the money, TC is a better buy, IMHO.

You're right, I started typing Marrakesh and for some reason ended up with Morocco!

I guess I glossed right over the Veggie cous cous. Has anyone had this dish? Is it good, what's included?
