get a cash ressie at BCV to extend a stay??? We currently have a dedicated 2br for 7 nights at BCV starting July 25th and I am waitlisted for that Thursday preceeding our week to give us 8 nights. I would love 10 nights there...however I am not willing to part with anymore weekend points for the weekend following our week. I just found out from someone on here that you can't do cash for 2br dedicated...so now I am wondering if I should give up dedicated and go with lockoff. I surely don't want to move. We did that our first DVC trip last Aug. We moved rooms at SSR and then we had a split at BWV so that was 3 moves. So any suggestions????

Would you worry that your DC would leave the bedroom on their own? That's the piece of mind that a dedicated gives parents, I think.

Do you have the dedicated 2 bedroom with the 2Q's. That's another consideration. If you have that do you want to give that up?

We always want and prefer having the dedicated two bedroom unit.

Take an air mattress with you. We frequently use our air matress for trips.

I perfer a dedicated and reserved one night on cash (VWL) for a dedicated and the other nights are in a lock off. I am really hoping that my waitlist for the dedicated two bedroom comes in! I am now wondering if I should call and see if I can get the cash night for a lock off.

Is this right? I've never seen this before and am wondering if anyone knows why this would be the rule?

It's been stated here that you can't get the BCV 2 bedroom dedicated with 2 Q's for cash, and I believe that to be true. You can't get standard or Boardwalk view at the Boardwalk for cash. The exception is for the Grand Villas.

We always ask for a dedicated because we usually have people in the second bedroom that don't want to sleep on a pull-out couch. We love having the 2 queens in the second bedroom and we don't need the extra kitchen space that you would have with the studio part of a lock-off.

Just my personal opinion though! I say do what works so you can stay longer!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the difference between a 2-bdrm lock off and a dedicated 2-bdrm?

Lock offs can be rented three different ways. The studio portion, the 1 bedroom portion, or the 2 bedroom lock off (both parts). This thread is about BCV's 2 bedrooms. The lock offs all have a sofa bed and a Q bed in the studio portion (this would be the 2nd bedroom if rented as a lock off two bedroom). A dedicated 2 bedroom can only be rented as that. There was a "problem" with room sizes at BCV and so some of the dedicated 2 bedrooms also have 1 Q and a sofa bed in the second bedroom. There are a few, under 35, I think, dedicated 2 bedrooms at BCV that have the 2 Q beds in that second bedroom. Those are not rented for cash. At all of the other resorts that have Dedicated 2 bedrooms, (BWV does not have dedicated 2 bedrooms), a dedicated 2 bedroom has 2Q's in the second bedroom. At OKW ALL 2 bedrooms, lock offs or dedicated have 2 Q's in that second bedroom, or studio portion.

Okay called back and MS had nothing for that week for cash in a 2 br. lock off either. So.......I kept my 7 days dedicated and waitlisted for a weekday. Hopefully that will come through to give us 8 days. Then if it comes through we will stay at the beach for 4 nights and if it doesn't come through we will stay at the beach for 5 nights. So a nice vacation either way. :goodvibes

Because they are so popular and so limited in number (BWV boardwalk & standard view, BCV 2 br w/2 queens). As far as I know, not only can DVC members not book it for cash but neither can CRO. Since they are so limited, it's only fair to the members to limit it to points reservations. I think the only exception is if they are not booked at last minute they can go for cash, but that would be very rare.

You can pay cash for a a 2 bedroom dedicated.

You can not pay cash for a 2 bedroom dedicated with the 2 queen beds in second bedroom at BCV.

I just found out from someone on here that you can't do cash for 2br dedicated

Does this only apply to BCV? I'm planning to try to get a dedicated 2BR with 2Q at VWL paying cash for the weekend nights. If we have to move, I might consider changing resorts, too.

It's the dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 Q's in BCV that you cannot pay cash for. Other dedicated 2 bedrooms, even those at BCV you can pay cash for.

:confused3 :confused3 Not sure I get these two statements.

What other 2br dedicated are there....I thought all 2br dedicated had 2 Q beds in them?????

Not all of them.

Are they a different set up???? What makes them different? Do they just block off x amt. that can not be used for cash???? Or are they a different set up in the guest bedroom?

Only BCV has dedicated 2 bedrooms that have 1 Q and 1 sofa bed in them, but some of BCV's dedicated 2 bedrooms have DO 2 Q's in them. The 2 bedrooms with the sofa and 1Q are mistakes that can't be fixed because the rooms aren't large enough.

I thought the ones with sofa beds were lockoffs? SO those dedicated aren't the studio ones? Do I need to request a 2 Q one?

The dedicated 2 bedrooms with 2 queens is a type of reservation and that's what it should say on your reservation form. We have one in November.
