Do you plan for *you*?

I do the planning keeping all 4 of us in mind, and if people want input they can add it (or I'll ask them if I'm not sure). I make sure we fit in everything that each person likes. Since I'm the one planning and making the schedule, I definitely make sure it has everything I want to do in there too.

I realized last trip that other than a dinner restaurant (which if my kids or husband hated we wouldn't go to) I really don't. When it really hit me was during MNSSHP. I've been dying to meet the Hag. Last trip her line was either really really long or closed so she could " find some apples". This year it was my one must do. We made it to her closed line one time and we never made it back because we were too busy crossing off everyone else's must do. I realized that for 2 years in a row I had set aside my one thing for the happiness of my family, and while it is not a bad thing, it's a little frustrating sometimes :) My youngest made mention of us missing the Hag as we were leaving MNSSHP and begged to go to another MNSSHP the last night of our trip specifically for the Hag :) (he got outvoted)

Which is why DH told me to start planning an adults only trip with only my wants on it for my birthday. Still won't get to meet the Hag, but I have a lot of other things I've always wanted to do :)

Not really, it was my kids first trip ( DH and I went on our honeymoon and I've been close to 10 times as a teenager/adult) so it was ALL about what they wanted to do. The kids wanted to play with the sidewalk lights at epcot for close to an hour causing us to miss our fast-pass for soaring then that's what we did, they wanted to play in the water at Casey's instead of going on a ride we did that. We've done Disney, it's their turn. Maybe when they are older but at this age some of our best memories are of watching the kids be kids.

Well, DH and my mom only go for me and for DS, so just being at WDW at all is a "for me" thing. So I try to plan the days so everyone gets good food, their favorite rides/activities, and enough rest, so that everyone is happy, and we can have a great time. This upcoming trip I'm not going to get to go on many of my favorite rides because I'm expecting, which is really disappointing. But I'm hoping all the Xmas activities will make up for it.

My family will be taking its first WDW trip in 2017. I am the only who has ever been. My wife never got to go and doesn't understand how great it is yet. The kids are still quite young (the oldest is 4 and the youngest 2 months). I will be making the main plans with my kids in mind but I do have a few favorites that I want to do that I won't miss out on. So I am going to plan for those as well. If all goes as planned, my sister-in-law will be joining us and will help with the kids so my wife and I can ride together on the bigger rides!

So for DD(5) I've planned Jedi Training, Princess stuff right and left, Flights of Wonder (she's an avid birder), Disney Jr, a visit with her favorite Minnie... and the list goes on.

For DS (18) I've planned lots of boats, multiple trips on Star Tours and Big Thunder, breakfast with Stitch, buffets and time alone in the parks.

For DH, just being in Disney and sitting on a bench people watching is enough and I've planned that, alone time with each kid and not needing to be in charge of the schedule. I have arranged time for him to single rider RNRC since nobody will go on it with him and got FP for his other favorites or likely favorites.

For me... well, there's a certain joy in planning to make everyone else happy, but I looked up and realized that in half a year of planning, almost everything has been, "Oh! X will love this!" I chose one restaurant for myself specifically. Don't get me wrong, I will love the trip we have planned, but I never went, "and I will love..."

Do you do that? Do you plan things for yourself specifically? And if so, what are they? Maybe I need a little personal indulgence. :)

I planned most of the trip around what I believe my son will enjoy the most BUT I wanted 2 things which are dinner at Whispering Canyon and dinner at Mama Melrose with F! after - I was able to book both - score!! =)

This while trip has been a dream of mine forever. I'm the trip planner in the family. My mom and brother are going with me dh and Ds (3 at trip time.) so far mom has picked the time of year and where we are staying. I have opted for the dxdp and that my husband and son and I are flying. (can't see a 12 hour road trip with ds) I'm pretty much in charge of dinning and touring plans for our group so I feel as though this trip is my baby so to speak! I entend to use rs and more to make sure everyone gets everything they want ;)
