Do you plan CS meals?

OK, we all know it's a good idea to plan out your sit-down meals so that you can make PS's, but how many people plan which counter-service places they will choose each day? Aside from Epcot, I haven't really thought about it until now; we tend to eat most of our CS meals at the resort, but DD wants to try Columbia Harbor House next time, so it just got me thinking...

I have gone through menus at allears.net to see if there's anything new I want to be sure to try, but in general, we'll eat at whatever CS place is nearby when we're hungry and looking for CS. I don't plan them out any farther than "YOu know, this sounds good if it'll be convenient at the time" - one less thing to stress about.....

Just like sit down restaurants, we have our favorite counter service restaurants, so we work them in to our plan for the day.

I have definitly reviewed all the menus (at AllEarsnet) for Counter Service. My 19 year old daughter will not eat any meat so rather than waste time stopping everywhere to find something for "everyone" I will be prepared in advance.
Trying to satisfy everyone's taste is sometimes difficult but she takes the cake....literally :scratchin

No, I don't plan them. I do, however, have a "list" of CS places I'd like to try, but I wouldn't really go out of my way to eat at them. It's just too hard to plan because how do you know where in the park you'll be when you get hungry? For a sit-down I don't mind walking to the other side of the park, but not for CS.

I never had much trouble - none that I can remember offhand. I am a vegetarian, but DD is not. Counter service places almost always have a veg option alongside the non-veg items.

Like Webray, we have our favorite Counter service restaurants & ones we will not eat at. We try to fit our favorites in. We don't have a problem going from one side of the Park to another for a decent meal. None of us are huge burger/chicken finger kinds of people.

We do sometimes if we know (and we usually do) what park we will be in. We especially do if there is a CS restaurant we want to try and haven't yet.

We only plan our sit downs. We know which counter services we like and try to visit them while we are in the World. There is no set plan for our counter services--go with the flow. . . .

I think this way, too. I plan my park activities based on my PS's (doesn't everyone go to WDW to eat??), but hadn't thought about scheduling in a CS meal.

Interesting variety of perspectives, everyone - just like everywhere on the DIS. :)

I write up a basic daily itinerary for each day, just outlining what we want to cover and a basic touring plan to get everything done. If we plan on doing CS for a meal, I pencil in a few options based on menus and reviews at about the time we will *probably* be eating. I write down the general menu of the CS restaurant next to the name. Then when we get hungry, we discuss what we all feel like eating at the time and choose that restaurant.

Like when we were at AK, I wrote down Tusker House and the BBQ place as options, with a little note that Tusker House has rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes and that the BBQ place had BBQ ribs and sandwiches that were supposed to be good. When we got hungry I read off the options to the DH and we decided it was too early and hot for ribs or BBQ so we went with Tusker House.

That's how we did it for the whole trip last time and it worked perfectly! I'll be doing it again the next time we go.

We have our favorite CS restaurants as well. But before our last trip, I read over a lot of menus on allearsnet and found several new ones that I made notes on just in case we were in the area. Columbia Harbour House was one of them, and I really liked it!
