Do you pick 2nd & 3rd choices

Generally, when planning our ADRs we have discussed multiple options and have settled on the one we want. If it comes time to book the ADRs and the one we want is not available, I already know what our second option was and go straight for it, but I don't write it down anywhere.

We booked our ADRs a few months back and didn't have any trouble getting what we wanted. We are still making some small changes now and aren't having troubles finding what we want. But we're also not going during a busy time of the year.

We are going at Christmas time which we've never been so I'm nervous we won't get our top choices

You might not, if your top choices are the usual popular restaurants. It would be wise for you to know what your backup plan just in case.

Christmas is a whole new can of worms. No busier time in the year than Christmas. My wife went to Disneyland at Christmas once and said she got locked out of the park because it reached capacity. Not sure if that happens at WDW as well. If it does, make sure you get to your park with the reservation early that morning and don't leave!

As Hopefully said, I probably would have a backup plan. Make sure you are logging on to book your ADRs the moment you're allowed to. We woke up in the middle of the night to book ours and probably didn't need to, but you probably will. Have your choices and backups ready!
