We are taking a quick weekend trip..
I was thinking of paying the high price of parking up close at the airport. Im not sure if its worth it. I know its cheaper to park far away take the airport shuttle to the gate
( then later that day bus to WDW) just a lot of shuffling on buses in one day...
What do you do to get to the airport?
Should i consider uber?
Family of 4 about 15 miles from airport/ DFW 8am flight
Friday -Monday

How early will your family be up and ready to go? Be honest. If you can add the time in to park and shuttle to the airport, I would do that. I have done that before, and it is no big deal. If however your schedule will be tight, I'd Uber in.

I generally park at the airport. Our airport has a garage with two "zones" with the closest to the terminal being more expensive. We park in the cheaper zone. No shuttle is needed for the garage. We prefer this over the surface lot next to it or the economy lots further away, because not wanting to chance having to deal with rain with our luggage.

The only exceptions is when we have taken a longer trip in which my parents would drop us off and pick us up.

DFW is so expensive! We typically do the express parking. Not as expensive as terminal but more convenient than remote since the shuttle picks you up at your car.

I live more 45-90 miles away from the two airports I fly out of the most so even uber/lyft would be almost the same cost as paying to park at the airport. If I have a family member that offers to take me and pick me up, I tend to take them up on the option.

If I have to park at the airport, I tend to park in the closest place that does not require a shuttle. Once I am at the airport or return, I do not want to deal with the shuttle if necessary.

My airport long term garage (attached to airport ) is $20/day and I pay that unless I am taking a very long trip. I don’t like the hassle of taking the shuttles to the further away lots. I live too far to Uber or I would prob do that honestly.

Depends how long I’m going to be gone. I only park at the indoor garage at our airport as I’m afraid of weather (hail) damage to my car parked outside at the economy lots. It’s $28/day. I use the Uber calculator to get an estimated price, add in a tip, and then compare to park in the lot. Usually I find 4 days to be the point where it‘s less expensive to take an Uber. Although given the Covid situation right now, I’d choose to park in the garage and not take rideshare. We’ll be at Disney next month, and I’ve made the decision, for the first time ever, to rent a car at the Orlando airport.

I park in the garage parking at my airport when traveling 7 days or less. It’s $24.00 a day but to me it’s worth it. Sheltered from the weather, no transport to take and a short walk to the terminal.

We always park at the airport but usually in the economy lot. The shuttle ride is 5 minutes, tops, and the shuttle stops are all over the lot, so no long walks dragging luggage. The attached parking garages can be a long walk into the terminal, and they are expensive so we never use them.

Thats why im asking.. we always overspend at disney and come home broke. I am just thinking we will be at HS all day disney transport then airport.. do I really want to take two tired kids across the airport. I do like the idea of just ubering to my house probably the same . .. but do i do that during covid. The bus drivers are being monitored

We live about 15 minutes from the airport, so we take Uber. Cheaper, and less stress. What's not to like?

We're over 2 hours away from RDU, so we definitely park at the airport. I go ahead and pay the $22/day for Premier parking and park as close to Terminal 1 (Southwest's terminal) as possible. We've been literally just steps away from the entrance of the terminal more than once, and never very far away. It's so nice when we come home and we can just walk right out and hop in the car.

I always figure airport parking into our trip costs. I use my credit card to pay the parking, and it looks like I'll probably have enough points on my card to cover the cost for this next trip, so it's essentially going to be free.

One thing we have started doing is sending DH to get the car while we wait for the bags at baggage claim and then he picks us up at the curb. The bags usually arrive close to the time he picks us up and we don’t have to put the kids on the shuttle. We are in Frisco so uber is kind of far for us.

Ditto for us when the kids were younger...we parked the kids on a bench, one of us watched for the luggage, the other went and grabbed the car.

These days, no kids in tow, it depends. We have started using a local airport parking service that is actually closer that economy parking, cheaper AND covered. Plus they pick you up and drop you off at your car and there is never a wait. If it's just a quick weekend trip sometimes I'll just park in the hourly garage right at the airport. Plus you can pre book your parking and just scan the app to get into and out of the parking lot.

We are about a hour & 15 minutes from either BWI or PHL and so Uber isn't really a viable option, but we often use it at our destination airport to get to where we are going.

We park at the cheap parking on at the airport. It's usually 5$ more than the outside parking but so much closer. No shuttle but it's a 5 min walk to get inside.

ATL - yes, very easy and reasonable for short trips.

Depends which airport and how long the trip is. I'm 15 minutes from MHT, so if it's a long trip usually someone will either drop us off/pick us up (or get our car and drop it off); a short trip we'll just park it in the garage (especially in the winter). Logan, I've done the math and after about 4 or 5 days a car service to/from costs the same amount of money as parking...but the bonus is we don't have to deal with the driving in/around Logan.

Does your home airport have a cell phone lot? One adult could grab the car, the other can grab the bags, and call when they are ready to be picked up. That way you avoid the shuttle for most of you.
