We'll be travelling w/a 1 year old a a 3 year old. Do you order a meal for your toddler at WDW? Do you just share

Are you OOP or on the plan? OOP I would say it depends on the child. I had one three year old who I always ordered a meal for - and he would eat quite a bit of it, more than i was willing to share off of mine. I have another who sharing is what we do because she barely eats and I get a side of fruit for her.

I always ordered my dd her own meals when she was 3. Definitely share with the 1 yr old.

Of course any person age of 3 or more has to have a meal purchased at buffets and family style restaurants. Other than that, I've done both depending on the time of day and the food available. Some places are just more conducive to sharing than others.

Most of the WDW restaurants give me enough food to make 2 adult meals, so I could share with both kids and still be full myself...assuming the kids wanted to eat what I was eating, lol!!!

My kids always wanted hamburgers, chicken nuggets, hot dog, mac n cheese or PB&J. If I'd tried to share my Beef Brewat Rolls, they'd have :snooty: turned up their stupid little noses and gone hungry. :lmao:

So, it all depends. :teeth:

we have not ordered for my ds yet. He will be turning 3 on this trip. He is definatly still in the sharing food stage. There are 5 of us so there is always plenty of food to go around !popcorn::

My 2 & 4 year old share a meal almost everywhere! (And they don't finish that!) I'd split one between them.

On my older son's first trip, at 15 months, we ordered him his own food. He has always been a good eater. Our younger son will be 18 months on our upcoming trip and I plan to do a variety of things. First, we're on the Free Dining, so I've booked several character meal buffets so that he'll eat free. Second, I'll try to convince the 5-yr-old to share his chicken strips with his brother, or I'll share mine. Third, I plan to take a stash of fruit cups, peanut butter crackers and goldfish that I hope he will eat if he refuses anything we offer. As a last resort, we'll get him his own hot-dog or chicken strips.

Have fun!

I just got back, and I bought maybe three meals for my toddler in the 10 days. We did a few buffets/family style meals, so she always got her own food at those, and sometimes I just got her some fruit. She's just such an unpredictable eater these days that even if we'd get her favorite (mac 'n' cheese), she'd often barely touch it.
