Just curious how many people regularily vacation at DW or DL only. If this is the case for you also curious why you haven't branched out and gone somewhere else.

We'd like to go back again before the kids get much older, but there are so many other places we'd like to go too, and not enough $$$ to go around. KWIM?

Prior to kids it was --
India, Bali, Thailand, Malayasia, Singapore, Morocco, Grenada, Barbadoes, Bahamas, Trinidad, Cuba, Jamaica, Switzerland, Spain, Hong Kong, Hawaii. After kids, it has mostly been Disney. We love Disney and we find the customer service, bang for your buck and cleanliness - cannot be beat. I love the fact that most CM's will bend over backwards to make a vacation so memorable.
I do believe that the world has so much to offer and when my kids are older and able to travel longer distances - we will see more of the world such as England and France. Of course - while in France - we will be sure to check out Disney France!!!:cool1:

I am so jealous. Of all those places, I've only been to two of them. Hawaii when I was 15 and Switzerland with Dh when our oldest was 6 months old (Dh's family is from there).

What were your 3 favourite destinations (must sees) from your list?

We love Florida....it's just a bonus that Disney is there.

We are planning to take our kids to Europe in 2-3 years. ds is 7 and dd is 13. I think Europe will be enjoyable when ds is 9 or 10 years old.

dd also wants to go to Hawaii and Greece.

ds wants China.

I want UK, France and Italy.

My brother lives in Korea.

So I can see us expanding our travels is 2-3 years.

DH and I travelled all over North America before we had kids.

We have a trailer so we camp ALOT too!

Blessings, Sandra

Aside from being to many places in the states to vacation (Colorado, New Hampshire, NYC, New Orleans, Florida) I've been to Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Italy, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, British Virgin Islands and Mexico. When I have kids, I don't expect what I do to stop, maybe just slow down... I try to visit Disney every other year right now...

We have family in Greece (dh) so once the youngest can handle the plane ride we will go. As for winter vacations well good question. WDW is far from a relaxing holiday. We will see how this trip goes however I suspect the next trip is for Mom and Dad. Probably Turks and Caicos or DCL. Of course we go to B.C. every summer and chillax by the lake. Been to Mexico a few times and I still don't like the resorts down there. We did the "real mexico" and it was the best holiday I ever had. Once you have kids your choices are very limited especially if your family is five or more it becomes insanely expensive. Drove across Canada and back twice. Would like to explore southern US as I am french acadian and have family down there. Someday I would LOVE to go to Florida....OOPS going there doing that....wooohoooo:lmao:

Hi Millbrook -
My favourite place was Bali, Indonesia. It was so beautiful and friendly. We went there for our honeymoon and it was incredible.
I also love India and the Fiji Islands is gorgeous.
Also, been to Puerto Rico, St-Thomas, S-Maarten, and Tortola. Jamaica is really nice and I found the locals very friendly and laid back.

We just got back from St. Augustine and Universal Orlando. Our next vacation will be WDW again.

I would love to visit Bali! Did you go thru a TA? Thanks! Sandra

I visited Englad as a child. DH & I honeymooned at Disney (against his will) in 1983, then we also tried a cruise and an all-inclusive Dominican Republic vacation. I am not a traveller and on both of those trips I just wished I was at Disney. Our three girls have visited WDW pretty much every year of their lives with only a couple of exceptions for financial reasons (they are 17, 12 & 12). DH and the girls are all welcome to travel wherever their hearts desire, but I will probably never travel anywhere but WDW. There's no point doing something that you don't love. I hate travelling, but I LOVE WDW!

DH and I love to travel. We have been to Maui twice, Las Vegas several times, Nova Scotia, and Europe (not together though). With DS now, Disney is the easiest. I would like to take him on a cruise or to the Caribbean next winter but WDW is easy and cost effective. Plus we always seem to get crappy weather anywhere else.

SandraC-
Bali is wonderful. So exotic, safe, friendly and interesting. Plus, there is so much natural beauty.
We research the trip ourselves and then booked with agent.
The only thing is it is a looonnnggg 17 flight...

We go to WDW every year and only ever seem to go there we haven't even gone to our cottage in years and we used to be tehre even if just for long weekends every summer.

Lived in England and Hong Kong. Have travelled to Japan, France, Holland, Belgium, Scotland, Wales, China (Shanghai), Hawaii (Kauai), New York, Washington D.C., Washington state, California, Florida, and Nevada.

We do Disney a lot because it's the easiest thing to do with young kids. In the past 2.5 years, though, we have gone outside the Disney safe zone and ventured to Washington D.C. to tour the Smithsonian museums and to New York City to absorb some culture there with the DDs. Our DDs really enjoyed those experiences and showed us that they had the temperament, interest, and patience to travel that far with us; so we took them to Kauai, Hawaii during spring break 2006. They did so well during that long flight and at the resort that we are planning another Hawaii trip with them next year, maybe even France and England...who knows??? It's so cool to have kids that are finally old enough to just lie around the beach with me/DH and read quietly!!!

Yup just Disney here. We are not the lie on the beach kinda people. Friends of ours wanted us to go to resort with them where that would be what we would do , plus drink. So not us. I would go nuts after about a day of that. Not even.

We are thinking that in 5 years for our 10th anniversary we might want to go to Disneyland Paris or Disneyland without DS and any other children that might come along during that time.

Of course that's 5 years from now, we might just go back to WDW.

No.

DW and I went to Punta Cana last February... without the kids. It was an amazing vacation!!!

We also go on camping vacations every summer, here in Ontario, as well as in N.Y. state.

This summer is a two week trip to Nova Scotia to visit with family. Next year.... WDW!!!!

DH doesn't fly, so we are a bit limited in our choices, but we stay in the Sauble Beach area for a week every August (with friends) and we plan to skip Florida in 2008 and drive out to the East Coast for 2 weeks during the summer of 2008. By the way, if anyone has any tips about the East Coast, please share. It will be all of our first time out there. We also want to head to the West Coast one day, but it is much farther, so until DH agrees to fly, we'll have to wait.

My last 4 Vacations have been disney, one of them was my Honeymoon! We tossed in a Cruise just to spice things up a bit!

We are planning for another trip. My wife wants to go to DL just because we live in the west coast of canada, but myself i seem to be a DisneyWorld man!
who knows what's going to happen! She normally ends up winning.... :(

However the trip i want to play will be for Disney During the Christmas and new years.... i hear it's something you really got to see with your own eyes! And to me that sounds like something FUN!
