Do you live in or near a "sketchy" area?

I do. This area has become so, uh...filthy, these past few years it's mind blowing. Gangs, rapes, tainted drugs, drive by shootings, murders, etc have all happened. 4 of the 5 have happened directly in my community. We're not full on Bronx but we're getting there.

I really do hate this place, and sometimes I don't feel safe. Once I finish high school I'm leaving and never coming back.

Another sketchy area I've been in is Compton, CA. We took the wrong exit and landed in Compton. I really didn't feel safe, and I never got out of the car! Other places I don't like are Whittier, CA and Camden, NJ. Camden is just dirty.

I hate Amityville! I had NYSSMA there once and I was freaked out!
But anyways...my town is fine. Nothing really too bad.

Sometimes the crime from Amityville spreads over here because some of Amityville goes to my school district.

I do. The intersection right down the street from my neighborhood is the 2nd most dangerous place in Dallas (based on deaths, drugs, shootings, etc.). There's another intersection about a mile and a half down the street from my neighborhood that's the 6th most dangerous spot in Dallas. The neighborhood I live in is nice, but not so much around it. But, if you drive just 3-4 miles down the road it's really nice. About 10 miles away is the rich part of Dallas - it's where George W. Bush lives. It's crazy.

We watched a tv special in my Economics class last semester on Camden, NJ. So sad!

Not much happens here.

I would say the worst thing that happened here that I know of, happened last year. An actor in the next Harry Potter movie was stabbed and killed, plus 4 others injured.

I live in a pretty nice place. I actually live between two cities, I have a mailing address to one city but went to school in the other city's school disctrict. There is the usual drinking, drugs, and bad parts but overall the place I live is nice. There is a city next to us that isn't so nice but it's mostly just kind of really redneck...it isn't as nice looking as where I live or kept as nice by the city and the schools aren't as good. Overall, I'm lucky to live where I live.

I guess if I lived in the city I'd be saying something different. Cincinnati isn't the best overall, though some parts are nice.

Yeah I've been by it a few times.
The house actually doesn't look very creepy today, its very nice, but knowing what went on in it when you go by is scary.

I HATE CAMDEN!! It's soooo gross and scary!
My town is fine. Hardly any problems. There are a few sketchy houses here and there, but overall it's pretty safe and clean. Boarding towns are scary as f though!

I guess I'm in the minority here. The area I live in isn't sketchy at all. It's mostly older people who have lived here forever, it keeps the neighborhood nice. Like our neighborhood watch meetings are the most boring things ever, & they're usually about how people need to mow their grass or something.

Now, on the north side of town is where all the crappy stuff happens. It's not too bad, but sometimes I'll here about drug busts and such. The south side is where the hud houses and government apartments are, so it's kind of run-down a little bit, but it's calm. You rarely hear of anything bad going on down there. Downtown is where the homeless shelters and such are.

I live on the east (?) side, it's mostly suburbs and old people, lol.

My town is alright, but I'm about 10/15 minutes away from Fort Lauderdale, so it's pretty bad there.

Uhh..my town does have drug/alcohol/gangs, there's a lot of murder in miami/fort lauderdale though.
Where I am it isnt bad compared to yours though, Sonya.

My school went into 3 lockdowns in one day about two weeks ago.

1 because a girl came to school drunk and had alcohol poisoning. We had to wait for her to get into the ambulance to go in the hallways.

The 2nd one I'm not sure exactly but i've heard two stories: someone tried to kill a teacher, or someone tried to kill themselves. The other two i'm positive about though, because we had assemblies.

And a 3rd because kids got caught selling drugs in the bathrooms.
Now if we get caught with cell phones, our messages are read in case we're talking about selling drugs.
And only one person can go into a bathroom at a time. We line up outside the door -_-
The other day someone bought 100 cookies on the lunch line, and he was suspended because they thought he was putting drugs in them to sell.

However, when a list came out of the best towns to live in in the Untied States, mine was in the top 100.

matthew and i were in walmart in the toy aisle. it was that random aisle with the clearance toys, where everything is kinda out of place. matt saw this little container for contacts. it was yellow fake alligator skin. it had a tiny little mirror in it, and it was about the size of my palm.

he thought it looked out of place, so he picked it up. the tag was scratched part of the way off, but it was red (def. not walmart.) and matt opened it. inside, there were four fake grapes (like something you would put on a table.) they were plucked off the stem, and meth crystals were pushed down inside each one of them.

as soon as he opened it, i recognized the smell. (thats not a smell that you forget.)

we told an associate, but we also went and told the head manager. to the best of my knowledge, the cops showed up, but i don't know what else happened, we went home. we were worried someone saw us touch it and was going to come after us.
