I just got done (finaly) going through our quarter collection and found Hawaii for our last one. It got me thinking:confused3 about how everybody feels about thier state representation. As for Colorado I was in favor of Pike's peak because of it's role in inspiring "America The Beautiful". But we got the "Generic" :rotfl2: mountain instead.

Ours (Louisiana) was fine. I am impressed you collected all fifty, I got bored halfway through, they just weren't coming out fast enough for me...

DD will be so jealous. She is having a heck of a time getting Hawaii.

I dont have any particular feeling over our quarter.

I love my state quarter, Arizona! I started saving in 2000 for my 1st DGD, and had to add another set for 2nd DGD and then 1st DGS. I just have to get the last year complete for all 3 and then turn them over to them.:)

I like Illinois', really impressed with some other states though. We have all 50 as well, now to start looking for the ones coming out this year.

NO! Have you seen Montana's? Anyone else have a skull or any kind of dead animal on theirs?

They let us vote on three designs - all of them had a skull!

:lmao: That's too funny!

We voted on our designs too. I think one was a cardinal (the state bird) and I can't remember the other one. The one that won is an astronaut with the state behind it. Neil Armstrong was born in Ohio and the Wright brothers were also born here.

I like ours. It has the state motto on it--"The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness" and of course King Kamehameha I along with the main islands of the chain.

Just finished my collection. I was disappointed in our Texas quarter. So generic! We don't have any cool aircraft or horses or birds or anything. Just the state, a star, and a motto.

I was not too thrilled about Texas either. I love the Arizona one! (lived there too)

I just need one more quater to finish off my collection. Still looking for Hawaii(minted in Philadelphia) I have every one of the others both mints. I can't beleive I have stayed with this thing from the start! It's really hard to get the "p" minted ones here in TX too!

We also finished a few weeks ago. Sort of I know they are coming out with quarters for Washington DC and the territories this year. So we've got 5 more to collect. I think our state quarter of Maine is great. It shows the light house and a schooner with the sun coming up since Maine is the first state to see the sun rise every morning.

When I lived in Oklahoma, I used to always hear about famous people that had been born there. That always sounded so weak. I think I'd take a lot more pride as a state for famous people who had moved here rather than having been born here and then moved away to do great things.

Neil Armstrong still lives here. ;)

Here's ours:

It's about as bland as you can get!

The state picked six finalist designs and asked people to vote on a winner on the State's web site. The design that won was a nice design that featured a Model-T, a lighthouse, a canoe, the Mackinac Bridge, and an outline of the State. However, our Governor decided she liked the bland design instead (in the voting it finished 4th!)... and picked that one! Thanks Jen!!!! :sad2:

I felt the same way about the New Mexico state quarter about it is just the state and the zia symbol. The funny thing is that the state even held a contest for people to submit designs and some of the designs were a lot better.

Meh, I guess it's OK. During the design phase of the MO quarter, some of my friends and I came up with an alternative design that we thought would be better:

We just got our last quater (Alaska) yesterday so we were looking at them last night

Funny! I guess to me Montana is a whole lot more than a bison skull and actually for the state that has some bad connotations.

I love Connecticut's, so much detail on the tree.
