Do you like your job? What do you do?

Happy retirement to a fellow teacher.

I retired at the end of school year 2024. I taught 3rd grade.

Retirement is blissful!! Hopefully you will enjoy every second!
....I hope so...and BTW, happy belated best wishes to you too!

I'm a retired RN. My last job before retiring was with Home Care and Hospice. It was my favorite nursing position. I have worked ICU, med/surg floor, Recovery, and office nurse for internal medicine. Home care and Hospice was my absolute favorite position. We live in a rural area and covered other very rural areas with lots of unique situations arising at times. I would still be working but had to retire due to a medical condition. Otherwise, I would not have retired so soon.
You sound a lot like my husband. When we met he was a geriatric nursing assistant at a nursing home and eventually heard about an opening in hospice and home care which he loved and unfortunately had to stop due to some medical issues. I am a medical biller and really enjoy it. I was with one company for almost 17 years and a little over a year ago they got rid of almost all of us for the awful offshore and I found a job at another company.

Retirement bliss sounds pretty sweet, and it’s well earned after teaching little ones for so long. I remember feeling the same spark you’re talking about, and it even nudged me to explore old interests again. I ended up trying new things and loved the chance to consider getting a specialization I’d always been curious about. Funny how free time lets those small ideas bubble back up.

Not really. But it's a job.

I'm an inside salesman. So I sit at a desk all day. There's only 3 of us up here most of the time, and nobody really talks to each other. Whenever we have all 6 up here, the other 3 cuss left and right and are loud. I make $1,200 every 2 weeks and work 40-45 hours per week. But at the end of the day, it's a full time jo

I’m an RN. I recently moved to acute inpatient on an adult unit, but I also float to the emergency room to do mental health crisis evaluations to determine whether someone needs emergency admission or not.

For the record, I no longer offer Life Coaching. Got hardly any clients and I did not enjoy it. Who am I to tell you how to lead your life?

Am currently on hiatus due to health reasons, but expect to resume my duties as soon as possible.

I retired in 2016 as a pharmacy tech at a hospital. And loved it. Was asked to come back as pool a month later.
I fill in the holes on the schedule and if anyone needs a day off they can call me. Nice part is if I can’t or don’t want to work I don’t have to take it
A great system

I have enjoyed all my jobs. I was mainly an elementary school teacher, but over the years I've done lots of different things. Retail, chef's helper, stay at home mom, library worker, etc. Teaching could be really fun at times, but the place where the employees were the most content was the library, hands down.

Semi-retired social worker (long term care/hospice/dementia then at-risk mental health clients) turned Vacation Nanny. I now work for myself booking babysitting jobs for families vacationing in my area. I like making my own schedule and that it is mostly a seasonal thing giving me several months in the coldest of winter to travel south.

I was a preschool and school age director and teacher for many years. I also worked at summer camps both at church and elsewhere. For a couple of years, I was also a caregiver to my beloved late elderly Grandma.

I got into tech (application developer) very early (1978) and loved it! I am a college grad but never had any programming classes - it was just something I could look at and do…I retired in 2021 as a VP…but I have to admit the last 5 yrs or so I was just burnt out…retirement is THE BEST!
