When on vacation in Hawaii...

I guess it should say Hotel Staff (not just) because you can pick multiple options. Also see companion thread in Community section about how you feel about meeting tourists when you are in your area.

I live in a tourist town. It's why I said staff and locals. We just kinda "get" each other.

On Vaca now and have been chatting with all around. Nice to hear others stories.

We were on the beach one time, and some guy came up talking about God and the Bible and stuff. I didn't have anything to do, so I sat and chatted with him.

I said we were probably going to hang out for a bit, then go get lunch. He said that I had to try the sandwiches at Wawa. Well, I'm on vacation, no real schedule or anywhere to go, so we decided to try it. I set my Google maps to Wawa.

When we pulled up, I found out that I had taken us to a gas station for sandwiches! We don't have Wawa in Minnesota, so I didn't know what it was. I felt terrible, and started apologizing to everyone in our party. We decided to try them anyway, as long as we were there.

They were fantastic! I was glad we decided to stay.

Ha - there was a time (not in Florida) where Wawa stores were just convenience stores with no gas. The company's origins are in the dairy business, and the convenience stores began in the 1960s in suburban Philadelphia. In my tourist town, we can't set foot inside a Wawa in season, as so many visitors simply overwhelm them. It's so funny to me to hear them described as a gas station, esp as maybe half don't sell gas here. Great story!!!

Love to meet people! Met a Nashville singer in line for Hagrids years ago, met a fun couple on our last cruise (they live in Florida and may meet up at HhN). Couple weeks ago on our sunset cruise in Hawaii met another couple who were fun - they are in Disney right now (also live in Florida)-also trying to convince them to come for HHN :).

I'm friendly but I don't make long lasting relationships - for example, not to the point where we are changing contact info. Just more of smalltalk while waiting in line or on a shuttle, etc. My family and I keep to ourselves but overall, it's easier to talk about my favorite subjects (Disney and traveling) with people who have similar interests.

One month ago in the Caribbean I drove two strangers I’d just met that day to an international soccer match and we all went together. It was a blast.
