Ugh, I cannot express how nauseated this thread has made me...

Raven is a BIG favorite here, my son is in LOVE with her, and has NEVER said a negative thing about her weight. As for her acting, she an uber marionette, or "slapstick" like John Ritter, Lucy and Laverne from Laverne and Shirley, it's a form of acting. You either like it or you don't.

As for Mariah, I see her like I see Aretha, she doesn't dress for her size. If she did she'd look beautiful but she dresses inappropriately for her weight. Everyone, no matter what size they are, should know how to dress accordingly.

There is room for all kinds of people on this earth, and though we see overweight men held at one standard and overweight women held at another, the double standard always seems to rear it's ugly head. Raven is not morbidly obese by any standard and the rail thin celebrities who instill deadly eating disorders in young girls outnumber her 100 to one.

Robin I had to see what you said here and I totally agree. People were talking how skinny some celebrities are yet people talk about how heavy Mariah and Raven are.
I thought Mariah was beautiful. She tries too hard to be sexy when she doesn't need to, she has a voice and a body to die for and she must forget it somehow.
Like you said, Raven is one of those actors that you either like or don't. Truthfully she gets on my nerves, but for a role model I think she's great.

If people stopped being so judgemental there wouldn't be so many eating problems.

You are acting as if she's morbidly obese. She's very top heavy and I think that gives the impression that she's heavier than she actually is. I agree that she could lose some weight but attitudes like this contribute to stars becoming bulimic and anorexic. They are bashed by the media even when they gain just a few pounds so they do whatever they can to lose it and sometimes that leads to an eating disorder.

Yes. I was reading a magazine..She is a D so that may be part of everyone thinking shes 'obese'

How old is she, 19, 20? I think that she has reached a skill level of physical comedy that most actors two to three times her age haven't. She is a great actress. and she is NOT fat or over weight. Unless now the proper weight is the 90s that all other actresses weigh. Shes a lot better roll model for young girls than lindsay lohan is.

ITA.. I mean Jessica simpson is 108 lbs...

Raven proves people that beauty isnt being 100lbs at 19. You can be beautiful, successful and such at heavier, not fat weight

you know why that first pic was the first one on google, right? It only takes (I believe) 21 hotlinks with Raven Simone as the title to that picture (like cardaway did) to get anything to a number one search.
