She has her own but has been using mine lately. I found my expensive lotion in her room the other day and it goes on from there. I buy her anything she needs but I may not buy the expensive stuff I tend to treat myself to. I ask her how come she doesn't use her own stuff and she tells me it does work as good as mine. Of course she is not a good sharer, she doesn't tell me when she has used up the last of something or she doesn't return anything to me and I have to go find it in her disaster of a room!

She is 14 and just started to get into how she looks, smells, ie, so I am still trying to get used to this! :)

I'd tell her, sure, she can use my stuff anytime if she doesn't mind me rifling through her stuff anytime :teeth:

Oh yes they think my bathroom is as good as a trip to bed bath and beyond. Sorry but I can't offer you any help. Just wish you luck on the teen daughter years ;)

well I don't have a teen yet but my mom always let me use her stuff. I would insist that she return it and not use the last of it.

Maybe get her some "good" stuff for Christmas.

Do I let her? No. Does she do it anyway? Yes.

My daughter's guilty too. She has lots of her own and I don't buy her the cheap stuff, unless you call the Jessica Simpson, VS, or Bath & Body Works lines cheap? It doesn't matter though, she'll use mine in a heartbeat and she never asks. Oh, and no, she doesn't return it either. Heck, sometimes she takes it to school with her and I need it here.

I had to buy a second razor because mine "Disappeared"--I had just gotten a new schick quatro (I think that's it) and it does a great job--but then it somehow ended up in her toiletry bag when she went to mission camp! I did let her have it over using my shampoo for colored hair, since it is herbal essences and costs more--I kept finding it in the "Kids' bathroom"--she has several types of suave to choose from but kept grabbing mine. That one bugged me.

Even if you buy her the good stuff she'll use yours. :confused3 My 19yo still uses mine and I still yell. I don't get it, her skin is so much fairer than mine and she uses my foundation. But the best is she forgets to return it to the bathroom so I'm trying to get ready for work and now I have to tear her room apart looking for it only to find later on that is was in her car because that's where she puts her make up on. I just don't get it. :confused3 Don't try hiding it because she'll find it. I swear teens girls have make up radar.Good Luck to you.

I let my DS9.5 use my gel. It's expensive but if we all use the same one, it's easier and less expensive in all.

I have no problem sharing....

My one year old son takes my makeup. It would be :rotfl: except he lost my new container of bare minerals foundation. grrrr. I like the suggestion of getting her the good stuff for xmas. Or tell her to buy her own good stuff.

My mom and I used to share lotion becuase we only had one bathroom in my house so it was just shared. However, we never shared make-up. I used it a couple of times and she got really mad hehe. She also told me that sharing make-up means sharing germs and all that gross stuff sooo. I'm in college now so even if I wanted to use hers I can't

even dh and sons take my stuff. I buy mousse for curly hair. It costs more then the regular stuff but it is the only thing that works. DH thinks nothing of using it in his straight hair for no apparent reason. I now hide it. My one son has skin issues, dry, similar to mine. I share some things with him. It bugs me when I buy something that's expensive for a specific reason and somebody in the house borrows it even though they don't have the same issues.
But I'm also really ticked at college dd. She comes home for weekends alot, watched and week before Sun. DH show. I wanted to watch it last night before the new episode aired. Why did she have to mess with my dvr.

Well, it depends on what the meaning of the word "let" is.

I can't even keep my toothbrush sacred - one of them grabbed it to pack for a trip last weekend. With two girls, a steady supply of razors, shaving cream, sunscreen, etc. disappears into my house, spends a few brief days on my counter, then is sucked up the stairs to the girls' bathroom, never to be seen again.

Well, I *was* buying my 14 year old her own stuff. Then she starting liking my salon hair products and all of a sudden my Aveda conditioner was GONE!! Then my Clinique eyeliner disappeared.

I asked her why she wasn't using the stuff SHE picked out and she said that my stuff works a lot better. The salon shampoo, the expensive makeup, etc. So, it is TRUE that the expensive stuff is better. The heck with The Cosmetics Cop, Paula Begoin--just ask your 14 year old what works better!

My 14 yr old DD has a habit of swiping my make up!! I found the Maybelline age defying make up GONE one morning. I called her cell phone (she was at the bus stop) and asked where she put it. She had it in her purse........with her!! :rolleyes1 I told her what it was made for and she told me she didn't care...she liked the coverage it gave her. It's not uncommon for me to have to retrive my hairspray off her dresser in the morning. Most of the time, the shampoo in the bathroom is used by all of us. Nothing fancy.

For her birthday, since we had gotten her and her sister a joint birthday gift during the summer (a new tv for their room), I went out and made up a little beauty basket for her. Bought her a whole new set of make up, some 'blonde' shampoo she had been bugging me to buy her and some feminine smelling lotions. She was thrilled. :lovestruc Of course, she didn't offer to share her stuff! :earboy2:

My mom had it easy I guess. I bought my own stuff, yelled at HER for using my B+bw lotions!!!! My worse crime was I loved to use the shower in their bathroom. I have the same issues here at my house withe the male species using my B+BW Juniper Breeze stuff that I had at home with my brothers using it.

I don't use my mom's shampoo. I actually really don't like it. I use aussie, and she really doesn't like aussie, so we just use our own. :confused3
