Do You Let Your Kids Win at Games?

I don't let my son win. If he loses he is okay with that. Loser picks up the game though :teeth: He can play a mean game of Cootie! He ALWAYS wins without me letting him :lmao: Chutes and Ladders he beats me on too. I've got him on Yahtzee though ;)

There are a lot of photos you'd like to see!! :rotfl2: If I ever learn to post pics, you'll be sorry!!!

Will you include photos of yourself in your newest BE collection? You know, Brenda, now I'm almost $50 more in debt to QVC because of you pointing out the Today's Special Value. But thanks, really, because I was wanting to try the Soft Focus Glee. I can't wait till it gets here! :)

I am amazed at the strength your son has. I have never seen anyone do that. Can he do it in reverse with his other arm on the bottom? Weird question but it popped in my mind. Tell him how impressed we are!! :woohoo:

I hope Blondie answers this question! Enquiring minds want to know!

No, but it got to the point now where if we are playing memory, my 5yo DS will ask me not to play since I always win. He wants to play with just him and his sister (3).

Edited to add..Does anyone else get wicked annoyed at the Toy Story memory or the Blues Clues Memory. I get that paying attention to detail is important, but there have got to be 5 -6 different Woodys in the Toy Story one and how many different color bugs does the Blue Clues one need?

:rotfl: I'm deeper in debt to them also! Plus, I ordered a Travelon bag last night that I wanted to try. This is the first TSV that I have been excited about in a while. It has very practical items in it that I know I will use. I had never foiled a glimmer until today. I tried it with Bare Skin and I LIKED it! I thought adding water would make it messy so I never tried it.

With QVC it is always something! :teeth:

So far I've only seen my son do it in that way. I'll have to ask him if he can do it the opposite way.

Brenda, I can't use BE. It feels dry on my face (even with moisturizer underneath) and makes me break out every so slightly. I wanted to like BE, I really did. It just wasn't to be.

Enjoy you new QVC acquisitions! :thumbsup2

:faint: Allergic to BE?! Well, I can't wear the eyeshadows--they make my eyes itch! BUT I can wear the glimpses and glimmers on my eyes! Weird, huh?

Well, with skin as peaches and cream as yours is, Blondie, you don't even need BE! :cheer2:

Let us know if your DS tries the opposite side!!

My hubby thinks I should let my kids win more. He thinks I don't b/c I don't want to lose. That couldn't be further from the truth. I want them to work at winning and understand they cannot win all the time.

My DH is the same way. It's not like I'm playing Boggle with the kids!! :rotfl2:

It's important for kids to learn that they are not always going to win and they need to lose and win graciously(sp?)

Having said that my oldest who is Special Needs has a very tough time with losing (and turn taking for that matter - lol)- so we try to play games that give the kids an equal chance at winning against us - like Yahtzee - (the older 2 anyway) it's great for them to learn the #'s on the dice and it's really not that much of a stragety game. Yes of course I help them but all in all - anybody has a change of winning with that :) We also play "partners" alot - with Uno or SkipBo - DH will play with my daughter and I'll play with DS etc :)

I try to stay away from the really kiddie type games because quite frankly - they bore me to tears :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have any of you ever played Rat-a-Tat-Cat? It's a card game that's easy to play for ages, oh about 5yo and up and is fun for adults, too. At least a whole lot better than Candyland, etc. Target now carries it. There's a lot of luck, with enough memory that Jake usually wins. We keep score and play several hands and it's something that the whole family enjoys on occasion.

Thanks Brenda, I'll make sure to ask him.

Never heard of Rat-a-tat-cat.

My favorite game to play with my kids is Caribou. It is such a short game! I always dread playing Candlyland, cause that game never ends! This game lasts like 10 minutes. And it is really a game of luck, so anyone can win, no matter how old.
