Do you leave your backpack/diaper bag in the stroller when on rides/shows?

So this will be trip 3 with DD, who is turning 2 a week after we go to Disney. Past trips we needed bottles, then sippy cups/baby food, etc. Now that she is eating regular food, off bottles and drinking out of cups (with straws), my diaper bag is mostly just emergency clothes, little things to keep her busy at the table for restaurants, and of course diapers/wipes. I was thinking about leaving the bag with my stroller when on rides/shows, and keeping my camera and valuables in a small little bag with me. What do you think? We are bringing our City Mini this time and usually brought the big Peg stroller so I think we already will be worried about the stroller, that I'm worried that we may worry about the bag if I leave it...even though there isn't much in it...it is just "our stuff". I may put a bike lock on the stroller depending on how we feel in regards to crowds (first time going in mid March). Has anyone left their diaper bag/backpack with their stroller? Thoughts?

We left our bag on the stroller alot. More than I expected we would for sure! We didn't leave anything of "value" in it execpt once when DH forgot and left the camera in it. No one ever messed with anything.

Nope. We put our camera in our diaper bag, so we bring it with us. Even if the camera wasn't there, we would still take it with us. Just easier not having to worry about loosing both a stroller and all the stuff we need in the bag in the very minimal chance that someone would take it.

I left the diaper bag in the stroller. Never really worried about it as it was just the extra stuff just in case.

We've tried to never forget the cameras....but we always leave the bag and usually any souvenirs we've bought too in the stroller...Never had a problem. But also realize that most stroller parking areas have CMs whose job is to re-arrange the strollers neatly so that more can be fit in the area. And realize that when your stroller gets moved (and it will get moved!), it's almost always a CM who moves it.

And we've always brought our own stroller...first the travel system style...then the umbrella style that we actually purchased at Disney because one year we thought we could just rent in the parks....wished we had had it at the airport!

I never thought about it, I always left my diaper bag in the storage thing under the carriage. I always had my baggalini with everything important in it that I did take on all the rides, except for the one time I forgot it and thankfully it was there when I got off the ride.

We left our bags w/the stoller and they were fine. And YES, A few times the stroller did get moved by a CM. We just grabbed the camera before we went on the rides.

We just got back from our first Disney vacation and we left the diaper bag with the stroller all the time and never had a problem. We had another bag with the camera and trading pins that we always brought with us on rides/shows. :thumbsup2

Ditto! Never a problem but never left anything truly valuable.

That "stuff" will become really valuable the second it's stolen and you NEED it. Leaving bags of any kind is just inviting a thief. He/she doesn't know what's inside and I'll bet about half the time there IS valuable stuff in there. Plus, a stroller with bags in it stands out. Anyone foolish enough to do this is too trusting. I visit Disneyland a lot. I've seen people walk up to parked strollers and take bags out of them and keep walking. It happens often. Of course I have no idea whether that person is the owner of the stuff or not. You can't accuse people like that. I've seen this over and over; enough to NEVER leave anything on the stroller.

;) If you've only had your stroller "moved a few times", you haven't been to the world enough....;)

--Sorry couldn't resist...every place we park the stroller, there seems to be a CM rearranging them.--

We used a 2 gallon ziploc and put diapers, wipes and snacks in it. That way, we could leave it in the stroller and anyone that might be "looking" could see it was just diapers and leave it alone. The camera came with us.

We did the same thing -- kept a clear bag full of our diaper stuff in the stroller. If I needed something (like in a restaurant), I'd take what I needed out and put it in the bag I carried with me.

I have heard of things being stolen from strollers (and whole strollers being stolen) at WDW, so I'd never leave anything valuable in your stroller. But we never had any problem. (Just finished our first trip in a long time "stroller-free." I'm glad to be done with the stroller days!)

Never had a problem leaving the diaper bag in the stroller and we have been to WDW a lot (7 one week trips and counting with a stroller). Our stroller has been moved a lot but never has our stuff been touched. Even if it is taken, it is just a spare change of clothes, a few snacks and some diapers/wipes, so no biggie. I keep the camera and money/tix on me at all times.

We left the diaper bag with nothing valuable in it with the stroller, underneath and I just kept a small purse with me with our valuables. It was fine.

We always leave our "stuff" in the stroller. Once my friend left the camera hanging on the stroller handle in very plain sight during a ride (probably 20 minutes) and thankfully, it was still there.

It takes a special kind of awful for someone to steal at Disney, but it happens I'm sure.

I don't think that is a fair statement. I just think that for most of us, the inconvenience of lugging that stuff around is more than the small risk of it being taken. And even if it would get stolen, it isn't a huge deal. Just head back to the hotel a little early. Honestly, if a diaper bag getting stolen is that catastrophic than you probably shouldn't even be at Disney.....I'm not saying it doesn't happen (I am sure it happens more than it should) but most of us find it to be a good risk to take for the convenience. And most of us are smart enough not to leave valuables in the said bags ;)

We always leave our diaper bag with the strollers. I carry the camera and videocamera with me, but everything else stays. We've never had a problem, but I don't leave anything I would truly miss.

our last trip was our first with kids. for the first day i lugged our back pack with changes of clothes, diapers, wipes, and numerous water bottles in it on the rides...i was half dead by afternoon. from then on the backpack stayed in the stroller....dh took the cameras with him. ours got moved numerous times, and after philharmagic we went up and down every aisle many times looking for the stroller...after trip number 5 going up and down we finally found it...and yes it was well marked! 2 different bandanas attached to it, and numerous laminated lime green mickeys dangling from it and still it was hard to find!

dh forgot the cameras on it once while we went on tta. he leaped off the ride!!!! btu they were still there, thank god! he even left it in cosmic rays a few days later! good lord! we also leave our spray fan with the stroller too.

Just leave anything in your stroller that you wouldn't mind being gone when you get off the ride. Not everyone is so honest at Disney.
