As for my knowing anyone like that, I would say a few whiners here and there, yes, but none really as you descibe. I do think some constantly unhappy people visit this website, or at least from their talk here, one would think so. In RL, no, none that I know.

My step mother was like that. Besides complaining about everything, she also would try her hardest to make everyone else as miserable as she was. Since she passed away last spring, my Dad has been a new person. He is so much happier and easy going. I state this just to show how draining a person like that can be. They sap your strength when you don't even realize it. Hope she realizes what is REALLY making her unhappy, and changes something about her life.

Yep, a girl I worked with until yesterday. She was fired due to "bad attitude"... duh!!

My dad never stops complaining. It is worse since my mom died and has gotten so bad that even I avoid being around him. I used to have him over for dinner but I haven't lately and feel guilty about it. The problem is he doesn't like the kinds of food we eat. We try to eat on the healthy side and unless its fried or beef(we do not eat beef) he doesn't like it. We eat chicken, fish and turkey and he hates all of that.

He will complain that nobody stops by but then complain about everything they do it they do stop by! Now he is always complaining about money. I am at a loss of how to cope with him.

OMG! I thought I was the only one who had people in their life like this...

I was always a skinny girl up till metabolism caught up with me, and now I'm a , well, not so skinny girl. But I'm serious, I used to weigh 105 and be a size 2 and when I started to gain, my ex used to berate me and tell me how hideous I was. At that point, I was 110 and wearing a size 4. Once I got up to a size 6, he left. (this was an old boyfriend from college, not my insane exH; though he used to tell me I was fat all the time too).

I managed to get back to a size 6 for a while but I could not keep the weight off.

So now I wear like, a size 8-10 and aside from not being svelt as I was, I'm pretty healthy. I may be lumpy but hey - I'm not going to starve myself or deny myself the occasional yummy food just to look sexy for some guy.

Now, My mom tells me I'm getting fat. I used to be so worried that Chris would leave me because I went up a few dress sizes but he insists he has not noticed and does not care.

I know someone like this......she's never happy, and eveything happens to her. We were really close for several years, but now we barely call eachother. I don't want to sound mean but, things are easier in my life without her. She was so negative, I felt down all the time.
