Do you know if the Harbor Club is closed?

I am reading conflicting info on this Child care club. It is/was at the Boardwalk. We are staying in late November - early December, and were thinking ahead to some childless nights!

I know there is a child care club at the Beach club, any info on either of these would be really great!

The Harbor Club is closed, but the child care club at the BC is open. The conflicting info may be due to the rehab of the BC location. While that was going on, the Harbor Club was temporarily re opened.

To be honest, I don't recall when/if the rehab of BC location is complete, but when it is/was, the Harbor Club is/will close again.

You might want to post on the Families Forum for more info / personal experiences. Our daughter hasn't needed child care for many years, LOL!

Best wishes -

We primarily stay at BWV and have used the Sandcastle Club at BC many times. My kids love it there. While it isn't as convenient as having a Kids club at BWV it is nice to have this one right across the lake. I believe the Sandcastle Club has reopened and the Harbor Club is now closed again. Sancastle Club was closed due to the rehab of the Marketplace at BC and that is finished.

Anyone know the price per kid? I've read conflicting info anywhere from $5-10 per hour. And would 10 & 12 year old boys feel out of place. I know the max age is 12 so I was just wondering what kind of activities they have, etc?

My 4, 7 and 9 year old's love the Kids Clubs. They have many activities, including art's and craft's, movies and video games. The price is $10 an hour per child. And we always tip. So its not cheap, especially with 3 kids. But its worth it sometimes! :teeth:

Honestly, I don't think I would even go to WDW if I had to think about child care---sign me 40something with an adult DD and a teen/almost adult DD----I personally feel terrible for all those parents dragging around exhausted kids that are not only NOT enjoying WDW but won't remember it. God bless all of you that are trying to "introduce" your children to the "perfect" vacation, way before they are old enough to appreciate and enjoy the experience. I'd rather stay home, or go someplace that is designed to be enjoyed by everyone. WDW is just that, to a degree...most "children" would be happier with an AWESOME pool and a cool room to rest in, keeping to regimented schedules as closely as possible. Good Luck, I hope you have a great trip.

I sort of agree on this one. We took ours at a young age, and we KNEW when to call it quits and go back for the nap. I just think some people push and push the kids to exhaustion, and then everyone has a miserable time.
You just have to know your kids, and when to go back to the hotel!

Ours our tween and teen age now, so no worries, but I (if I was to have another kid), would not hesitate to take them to WDW. I would wait till the child was potty trained however!!!

I think you are really sterotyping WDW parents here. We have brought our 3 year old son to WDW aroung 6 times now. He has never missed a nap or varied from his schedule even one time. When he was younger he didn't even know the parks existed. We enjoyed the resort and the pool. Now that he is a little older we might do one or two half days per week long vacation. Now in your defense I have witnessed parents dragging the kids in at 10:00 p.m exhausted and cranky. I have also witnessed melt downs in the parks from parents just dragging the kids through. My take is this: DVC families don't have to go commando through the parks because they come back every year. The "meltdown families" seem to be the ones who don't get to visit often. They feel like they have to see it all despite the childrens needs. I do feel the vast majority of vacationing familes at WDW do it responsibly. By the way my son remembers all of our trips even one when he was one year old. Kids can and do enjoy WDW at every age.
