Do you keep your fastpass+ reservations if you change ticket type

I am thinking about purchasing 6 day ticket (physical tickets) then upgrading to DVC annual passes when we get there. Would we be able to keep our arrangements or would they disappear ?

From what I have read yes! Upgrading your tickets will not cause you to lose your previously made FP+ selections.

DSis changed from 6 day ticket to 10 day no expiration without losing anything. Plus, on my MDE, her ticket changed type without my doing anything.:thumbsup2

We've been pleased with the experience, with the exception that, even though I have PAP, I still have to show something to get the merchandise discount. I figure all that info would just apply.

I know Disney is trying to improve and use new technology. But it can be so scary! We spend a lot of money on our trips and I hate it when something goes wrong. I know eventually, the problems will be worked out, but it makes me nervous until then.

I wish the system profile would include our AP, DVC and TiW info and then communicate the applicable discounts to the cash registers.

This wouldn't be that difficult, except for the fact that do you realize how many times these groups forget to even ask for their allowed discounts? I know the question is rhetorical because I know you know this.

There is no way Disney will ever implement a system that effectively works against them. The converse argument being that if they did, imagine the great PR They'd get and the potential gain they get in spending that might otherwise not happen (Trying to be creative here to justify. LOL).

Prepared to eat crow and hoping I have to. I don't feel very hungry though, unfortunately. :(

In my experience, the automatic or offered discount seems to be better at Disneyland than WDW. On a recent trip, when charging to my room key at WWS, the cashier always applied the DVC discount. And for years, most of the quick service cashiers in the parks ask if you are an AP at check out. --- Suzanne

I think this will eventually happen for at least the annual passes and maybe rather soon. Otherwise, Disney will have to keep issuing the tyvek passes.

There have been reports of CMs refusing to issue the tyvek passes (and KTTW cards) for those who have magic bands. (I think the annual pass thing is a training issue, but still a sign of things to come)

This past week we added on a 6th day and park hopping to our base passes...they automatically updated on MDE and our fastpass+ were unaffected :)
