Do you keep score on Christmas?

We definitely don't keep score. DBF usually has less gifts for me than I for him, mostly because a lot of what he likes isn't expensive. He's getting 12 gifts this year and there's 7 under the tree for me. He probably spends more money, too. Could absolutely care less. I buy him gifts that I know he'll love because I love him, for no other reason.

We keep score but only on the money issue, not the amount OF gifts.

We set an amount each year for each other and we have to hit just about or around that price. I went $26 over for him but that's because I found the exact right XXX he wanted in the right color. (He sometimes reads here!)

Some years, the set amount is really high. This year, it is really, really low. But, we had our huge 10th Anniversary trip and our niece's big birthday in Las Vegas trip, so the mad money was spent on those trips this year instead.

I can't imagine adults "keeping score", what is the difference if the number of gifts isn't exactly the same?
(Kids are a different story-I could see kids doing this.)

My husband an I try to keep the number of gifts the same.

Only because we open our gifts together and we take turns. It's just fun to go back and forth.

This year I actually had more for him-we went to WDW for 10 days in early Dec. and that was our gift to each other, but I couldn't resist and neither could he.
I got him four gifts and he was like oh noo I only have 3 for you.
I inisisted I did not care(and I truly don't!) but he just came home a few minutes ago with an one more gift for me.
So yes we "keep score", but not for ourselves like we want more, we just like to give as much as we get.

We open gifts one at a time (going around in a circle), so there is no pacing your gifts. It also means that everyone gets a chance to see what everyone got.
