Can you please help give me some wedding gift ideas for a friend's daughter? They bought a home but it is new to them and they are fairly fresh out of college so I doubt either of them are bringing much into it.

Do they have a registry? Maybe a gift card to Bed Bath and Beyond, That way they can pick some things for the house? Or something nicer that they wouldn't splurge on for themselves?

They are only registered at one retailer and I couldn't find much there they had requested other than a china pattern. I was trying to think of something unique or necessary that others may not have already bought. BB&B is a good idea, too. Thanks!

I'm a fan of getting newlyweds a starter set of good spices - not a pre-filled spice rack! Penzey's is my favorite store for this. :)

Yes, a gift card to Bed Bath and Beyond or maybe Lowe's/Home Depot...but if you want to get them an actual "something" (not a gift card) maybe think about all the items you use in your house on a daily basis, and what they may not have, being fresh out of college?

Dh and I got married when I was fresh out of college (he was already out a few years, but his "bachelor pad" wasn't exactly "domestic" ;) ) and we bought our first house just a few weeks later. So based on my experience with that some things that come to mind:

-vacuum cleaner
-basic tool set
-very basic/practical stuff like waste bins/trash cans, kitchen shears, extention cords
-lamps (especially if their home doesn't have a lot of overhead lighting)
-cookie sheets, cutting boards

What i do a lot and what my parents did for us was take a trash can/laudry basket and fill it with stuff for bathroom or kitchen. I have gotten rugs, tolilet brush, laudry soap, towel set, bath mat.
Kitchen one had cookie sheets, sauce pan, pizza cutter, serving set, dish soap, oven mit, pot holder

When DH and i got married had both been living on our own so we didn't need to register for much. What was nice were gift cards! Target, Crate and Barrel, BB&B, Home Depot, what ever was nearby.

I like the laundry basket/trash can filled with supplies. While not the snaziest of gifts it's practical and will be used. I also like the spice collection. We received a pre-filled spice rack, and while we used many we didn't use all. But a few quality spices that are regularly used is nice.Other items to consider to meet anyone taste:

Cookbooks (all kinds)
New cooking utensils
BBQ (and BBQ accessories)
New cookie sheets, pizza stone, pans
Patio items
Yard items; lawnmower, landscaping supplies, (giftcard for landscaping items)
If you have images from their wedding consider printing a few and placing in nice frames.
