Just getting my thinking cap on for Shopping later and just wondered if many of us buy Turkey for Easter Sunday Dinner??

When I was little, it was as important to have a big Turkey roast at Easter as it was at Christmas, and I did used to make a 'deal' out of it when we first got married - but over the years and as the kids have grown up, it doesn't seem to matter so much! :)

I suppose it might be the advent of Sunday shopping and all that, Easter doesn't really seem such a "Holiday" as such, but an opportunity to get cracking with some DIY!!!

What do you all do?

We will probably have a roast as usual, but probably not Turkey ;)

Morning Janice

We love a sunday roast, but at Easter we just go with whatever we fancy. This year we hope to have a BBq if the weather stays nice. Drumsticks, kebabs etc. Any excuse to get the BBQ out and make the most of the sunshine.

Happy Easter:)

Turkey, now that's a good idea. It's not my favourite meat but DH loves it and it would save thinking about what to eat for a couple of days!

BBQ sounds like a good idea too but I think I'd better make that today cos the forecast for Sunday ain't good.

got my parents and sister and her husband coming for dinner on Sunday, did suggest a nice Roast Beef but replies not suitable for print LOL so its traditional Turkey for us.

Yep it's Turkey for us....thought that we were strange as nobody else I have ever spoken too make anything of Easter at all but the fact that you asked this question at all Janice proves that we are not that far off the mark LOL

We also buy the kids a little present as well as an egg. Does anybody else do that?

Karen :D

We are having Turkey on sunday. I am doing a big Turkey roast as we missed
out on our Christmas dinner this year as we were away - so we are really
looking forward to it! - easily pleased!
Karen - I always buy my 2 a little present as well as an egg - this year they have
got a new Disney video each

Yes Karen LOL - I used to buy my two presents as well :), nowadays though, it is usually just a simple *fun* memento!

Katie remarked on how lovely the little Easter Baskets were that I have got for the little poppets that live over the road, so............. shhh (dont tell)......I have got her one too :)

James has got a beer mug with a groovy guy type of Easter Bunny on it! ;)

...... I've seen all the turkeys in the supermarket but won't be buying one, to be honest, we aren't keen on it so Christmas is our limit !!
We always have had lamb as a traditional meal for Easter, but I've not decided yet what I'm cooking on Sunday..............

Well - I am back from shopping and I decided on Beef for Sunday :)

I got some lovely Smoked Haddock for today - hasn't that got expensive???? £14.60 for 3 large fillets, mind you they are nice and thick.

I got a Smoked Gammon too for tomorrow and then we will probably have cold meats and pickles on Monday :D

No Turkey for us, we are having a nice leg of lamb for Sunday's Dinner.
Nobody really likes Turkey in our house.

We always have turkey at some point - not always hot though and not always on the Sunday!

I do like buying a fresh turkey ( a large one) as we all like eating it for a few days cold and the leftovers in a curry and finally I boil up the bones to make fresh stock for homemade soup! Mmmmm!
