Do you have trouble getting up when at DLRP?

I’ll be there once the park is open 10am – 11pm (so 8am – 11pm including EMH).

Does excitement get you up at 6.30am for the first breakfast slot? or is it really hard work?

We never once made the first breakfast slot!

Think the earliest we had breakfast was 7am but it was no hardship. Bit groggy and alarm had to wake us up.

Have to have your wits about you to wrestle past everyone in the breakfast scrum  Should be a lot quieter at 6:30 though.

Is there a breakfast before 7 then?

I'm aiming to get to breakfast at 7 so we can be ut by 7.45 at the latest...

I'm not sure. We had a 7:30 slot booked but wandered over just after 7. I guess maybe 7 is the earliest but were quite a few people about. Was a lot calmer than our 8 slot though.

More likely that I have trouble sleeping as I'm so excited!!

It's usually DS and DD telling me to go to sleep rather than the other way round!:rotfl2:

I did wake up early on the first proper day there and then had to set the alarm for the other days... Too shattered and excited though...

They did ask if we wanted 6.45 one morning but we kindly said 'NO' :rotfl2: No point having 2 grumpy kids at that time and for the rest of the day... forget about the husband :rotfl2: :lmao:

Sometimes I do - I find the beds really comfy and with the blackout blinds you don't have any daylight waking you up. Were it not for DGD (Disney goddaughter) leaping on me I may well make like Sleeping Beauty!

No trouble at all, when I get that Goofy wakeup call, I'm so excited I just have to get out of bed. :cool1:
Since EMH was introduced we've been down for breakfast at 7.00am, mind you we haven't had DH with us, I don't think he'd get up that early.

Cool, I'm pretty sure we'll be fine. I'm thinking maybe we'll sneak in a siesta some days.

But I doubt we will in practice. Too many things to do and see!!

Goofy will get me up on the first morning, that's for sure.

How long do you tend to allow for breakfast?

About half an hour, but I plan with military precision. After we've got settled at the table, I send DS's off to get the Orange Juice, then I grab a couple of plates, and collect enough croissants for everyone, take those back and then I go get the yoghurt and fruit salad for whoever wants it, whilst the kids tuck into the croissants, eldest DS will sometimes help himself to cereals and somewhere in between I'll have got a coffee that will be cool enough to drink just before we leave. - It's not a leisurely breakfast - for me anyway ;)
and if the announcement comes over the speakers that Disneyland Park is now open, then everyone is expected to drop everything and run. :rotfl2:

Should add that last trip after 2 full days of 13 plus hours park time, I don't think that I could've faced another day in the park, the mind was willing but the body felt old and weak. :(

I aim to be up every day in September at 6am for 7am breakfast and be at the park for 8am for EMH lol. My brother and his girlfriend do not know this yet ;) lol

Only after 10 hours?!?

That doesn't bode well for our 15 hr ones!!!

Wow u like to plan dont u!! ok so we got up early- norm have breakie around 7am and head to the parks for EMH but this was NYE. When we went in June we just went with the flow- didnt really need to plan anything.

I didn't find it difficult to wake up early as I shared the same bed as DD and she was up before me lol !! And DS was up too when he heard us. This was about 7 am - which was really early considering that they went to bed at about 9.45/10 the night before lol.

I think our breakfast slot was 8.15 on our first morning and the kids & I were ready by 7.30. So could've gone earlier... but... the husband was still snoring in bed. And I actually had to nag him to wake up just before 8 and we were slightly late. Grrrrr. The next couple of mornings, we had breakfast in the park at 9.45. So I wanted to be in the park for 8 or 8.15 at the latest for EMH ... but again, had to wait for the husband to wake up. Argh!

Never had the pleasure of Goofy waking us up. Maybe next time:)

Just realised I can't count either we did 8.00 til 10.00 and 8.00 til 9.00, so 14 and 13 hours respectively, God no wonder I was tired !

The length of your stay makes a big difference, both trips last year were just 2 days in the park for us, so we were cramming in as much as possible and on busy weekends - we didn't even venture into WDS last year and there were still attractions/shows we didn't get to do in the main park. Previous visits of 4 5 and 6 days have been a lot more leisurely and our next trip will definately be on this sort of timescale.

No wonder, well done!! I'm hoping I make 4 days of it!!

Did you stop in the middle for breaks at all? We might go back to the pool for a snooze around mid afternoon...

4 days without kids should be fine. We always take breaks here and there, little and big ones. In April my husband took Anya to the hotel to have a quiet nap and me and Mia went to the studios to have our faces painted. And on our last day (we spent 5 days there) we just wandered around, didn't do much and saw sooo many characters without trying. It was great to not rush around to this or that ride, just took our time and it was quite relaxing...

But just go with the flow...

Awesome, thankyou, that would be ideal if I can manage everything without being rushed. :-)

4 days will give you plenty of time to do and see everything _ I say that but even on our 6 day stay, we didn't get to the pool and couldn't tear ourselves away from the park to go to the Sealife Centre even though I'd prepurchased tickets, honestly I think I could live there and not get fed up of it, although if I'm totally honest the rest of the family don't share my enthusiasm, well my eldest does but at 14 he's far to cool to admit it. ;)

On the Saturday we had a meal at Cafe Mickey, late afternoon and on Sunday a meal at the Lucky Nugget. You really do need a bit of a break, but I personally wouldn't consider going back to the hotel because I knew once we got warm and comfy, we probably wouldn't go back out TBH I don't think I would've been able to get my boots back on ;)

You will have a wonderful time. :goodvibes
