do you have to reserve snorkel gear/inner tubes ahead for CC?

I don't want to schedule much for CC day- just want to swim, snorkel, and float in a tube. Is it cheaper ahead of time, or any other advantage? If you don't reserve, is there a long line to get them there and can they run out?
Please advise.

Our experience, you don't have to book them ahead. There's no price break for doing so (at least in the past). And there's always seemed to be plenty still available for renting once there.

No, there are plenty of both. And I've never seen a line to rent them. Actually, if you wait until the end of the day, you'll see many abandoned tubes on the shore you can use. ;)

They always recommend booking in advance and we do but we've never had anyone ahead of us in line when picking them up. As others have said, there's no price advantage and you're likely not going to have problems getting something.

Do it when you get there. They seem to have plenty of snorkel gear at least. Last trip, we booked ahead but ended up not using some of them. I didn't feel like going out. Next trip I will wait until we are there, so we don't waste the money.

We've always booked ahead for floats, but have never seen them run low. We've also never had to wait in line to pick them up. They have two styles of floats: tubes and loungers. You can start with one style, then exchange it for the other style at anytime without having to pay again if you change your mind. We've done that several times because our kids can't decide what they want.

Silly question but...I'm a little grossed out about sharing snorkel gear- how do they clean them??

I don't know how they are cleaned. If I recall when returned the snorkel and masks are put in a bin.

I just bought this from Amazon so if you see the woman in the crazy mask its me!! But I have read tons of positive reviews and I can't wait to try it out on our cruise. I tried it in our pool and it worked great. I hated using a mouth piece and mask and this eliminates that. You can breath easily through your nose or mouth.

And, you don't really need to rent stuff ahead of time. They have tons of tubes and floats. This pic was from years ago but the quantity is the same if not more now since the new ships. They have some different colors as well.

That's what we have done. We like to stay as long as possible. It is so peaceful and empty. We'll use one of the tubes and watch the lifeguards clean up the beach. We do help them out by replacing our chairs and returning the float/rafts.

I am too:) We have our own masks and snorkels. We were just renting to get fins.
