We'll be traveling in February 2013 and in the past have used the DDP, but during our last trip, two years ago, I didn't feel as though as I getting much value for what we paid.

This year we're considering purchasing the plan for maybe half of our stay, my question is can you do this? Do you need to purchase the plan for your entire stay length?

Not even sure we are going to do this based on the 2013 rates I've just seen and the comments about how hard it is to get some real value out of it.

Thanks,
Anthony

First, you may be able to get Free Dining if it is released for your time. Just keep checking the disboards to see. Second, the dining plan runs with your hotel stay. It is an all or nothing kind of thing. If you want to have it for only a few days, you must buy it with your tickets and room. Then, you would have to check out and check back in to continue without the DP.

You can do this only if you book two separate room reservations, then check out and check back in. On a package reservation with tickets, if the DDP stay comes after the room-only, it would be necessary to buy two sets of tickets. If the DDP stay comes first, you can buy tickets with a package to cover the entire split stay.

Thanks for the info. We are renting DVC points, so it sounds like it is all or nothing for us.
