Can't see them online on the UO site any more :confused3 Is there any way to check the rates online or do I have to phone?

Hello all .. I will be in Orlando in 2 weeks .. however I was thinking of switching my first 3 nights from Disney to Universal just to try something new. From what I have researched, I could buy the cheapest Universal AP (around $120) and then save almost $100 per night for a Universal onsite hotel. Is it really this easy or is there anything I need to know about these Universal APs? Do I need to have the AP in my hand when I checkin to Royal Pacific(?) .. this could be a problem because I wont get into Orlando until 10PM

Thanks in advance

You need to have the preferred pass to get discounts. It costs $179. The power pass will not get you any discounts.

As long as you have the voucher for the AP, that will do.

call now to see what is available at universal for the hotels
don't cancel part of your disney stay until you can get a ressie at universal.

the power pass has black out dates and not valid for free parking, hotel/tickets/food/merch discounts.

if there is availability at rph, let them know when you make the ressie you are having a late check in. this way, your room will be held for you.

you only need to buy one ap for the group to get the discounts.
the others can buy the 7 day, 2 park tickets for $85. even if you don't use all the days, you will still come out ahead.

if you can not get a room at rph for your dates, ask the reservationist if there are any promos, deals, aph rates for the other 2 hotels on site.

OK I went to damo's site and entered October 27th date using AAA and the next screen shows property listings with all 3 and the price ranges. PBH is 239.20-447.20. When I hit select the lowest rate is 299?

Ya, the site has been like that for a while with AAA. It will say that there are certain rates but when you try and check them out they don't appear and the rates say "other".

You either have to call or use a AAA site to check on the AAA rates.

I think the code is FLO and I think a driver's license would probably work.

APH rate is not always the lowest. It can also change as you get closer to your date.

I have seen some of the lowest rates offered for late august. Check your dates often!

thanks everyone for the advice.
My dates are 20th to 23rd August, i think the rates should be good as us schools reopens that week correct?

I will keep checking but i am concerned that i may end up getting a higher rate or no availability. Do you think i should have a target rate and when i see it book? or should i have a cut off date after which I just go ahead and book?
thanks again

You can book at any time and rate and if that rate reduces call and have it changed.
