Do you have to eat a full meal at CRT?

I really want to take my mom, but neither of us really liked the entrees on the menu. Has anyone just had soup and dessert or anything like that?

When I looked at Cindy's menus for lunch and dinner I was disappointed. Nothing looked good to me either. I was bound and determined to eat in the castle this trip, so I booked the breakfast. At least they have some "normal" foods on the breakfast menu. Not everyone is into "fancy" food. I've found alot of the Disney restaurants have nothing but fancy food. I guess the boring eaters are sentenced to a vacation of counter food.;)

My DH and I are not into fancy food and we both enjoyed the NY strip steak very much at CRT. The sides were very tasty too and nothing out of the ordinary. We eat there before MVMCP and it is one of our favorite restaurants at Disney.

With the exception of a buffet or Victoria and Albert's, it seems that waitstaff in all WDW restaurants are very used to having people order any and all combinations of food ---- appetizers as entrees, splitting entrees, desert only, etc. If you have any doubts, call the restaurant once you get there and ask.

Also, if there's food you "sort of" like, but not with the fancy sauce or mushrooms on it, or not the veggies/starch accompanying it, just ask if it can be prepared plain or slightly different. Also ask if different veggies/starch can be substituted. We haven't had special requests very often, but there was usually no problem (unless the meat was already marinating in something like terriyaki sauce --- then call ahead to ask if you can get some plain meat) .

Hope you have a great trip!

We planned on doing this in December of '99. But by the time we sat down, we were so hungry, the kids ordered off the children's menu (they might have even shared one meal) my sister and I shared a steak and my brother in law had the chicken.

I'm going again this October and plan on an appatizer and dessert this time, but we'll have to see if that happens.
