Do you have to book Mears in advance?

The last time I went was in 2017 when Magical Express still existed. Going with some friends in September, but we're coming from different places and will be landing at the airport at different times. Is it possible to check Uber/Lyft when we each land to see how expensive it is and then, if Mears is cheaper, go over and book that instead, or do you have to book Mears in advance in order to use it? For example, I have Uber One, so I usually get a bit of a discount except at super busy times, so I want to check and see if that would end up being cheaper than Mears, but I won't really know until I get there.

Yes, it's completely doable. I've done exactly this on several trips. BTW, the price is the same as if you booked it ahead of time. The only advantage, to me, of booking in advance is that I don't have to go to the counter and book it after I get there, so it saves me maybe 5 minutes!

And, FYI, this is true at Terminals A/B and also C.

Amazing, thank you!

Uber is not going to be cheaper than Mears for 1-2 people. If you are 3 or more then you have shot.

You realize the difference in experience right? Mears can be 2.5 hours to your resort, Uber is direct. Maybe talk to your traveling companions. Personally that extra 2 hours is not worth the savings to me.

If you're looking individually, you'll never find something cheaper than Mears. If it's feasible, wait until everyone is together and get an Uber and it might be better, it might not be. My wife is landing at 10:30 next month and will be taking Mears, I'll be joining her the next day with the rental car.

I mean I just checked and this is around the time of day I would be landing and I could get an Uber for $34 from MCO to my resort. If I'm not mistaken, isn't Mears $35 per person?

ETA: Looking at it again Mears is $32 round trip not one way, had the numbers mixed up in my head.
