Do you have to be invited for magic band?

I have AP's and we'll be staying Dec 30 - Jan 4th. I never got anything about magic bands. Do we need to be invited?
 
Do you have the room reservation linked to MDX? If you do, you should be able to 'Personalize MagicBands'. Disney does not mail MagicBands to non-US address, so yours would be waiting at the resort.
 
If it is too late to customize your bands you will still be able to get some at check in. They will all be gray, but they will work just fine.
 
It says on the App that you have to be invited to do the Fast pass Plus.......do member services contact you? How do we get to use this?!

Create an account for yourself at www.MyDisneyExperience.com. Then retrieve your hotel reservation (if not already listed.)

Be warned that in order to use FastPass+ you need to already own valid theme park admission. Some form of ticket--Annual Pass or Magic Your Way--must be linked to each individual on your reservation until they can participate in FP+. If you plan to buy tickets upon arrival, you won't be able to schedule FP+ times until you own that ticket and link it to the proper MDE account.
 
Thanks so much! So even if I buy the tickets in the UK, once I have them I can start organising my fast passes?
Created an account and customised my bands...now need to get passes sorted out!

Yes. It might be simplest to order your tickets "will call", and you can use your will-call number to link to your account immediately.

I don't think they mail customized bands out of the country. You will have to wait until you check-in, you may just get grey ones.

You don't need an invitation. I had my account setup, bands customized and fastpasses reserved long before I got the invitation. Anyone staying in a WDW resort is eligible.

If international guests customize their MagicBands, they will receive them as customized at check-in.

I was not able to retrieve my reservation. Member services said that's because I have a linked reservation (well that was why I don't show up on the online check in). Oh well, we'll go with the grey bands. This will be first time with them... now to read up on how to use them :)
 
TreesyB, try manually typing in your DVC reservation number into MDE in the "find missing reservations" link under "my reservations" tab, and see if that works. I have had the same problem before, and this usually solves it.

I have found MS to be particularly clueless in regard to MDE issues. It's worth a couple minutes of your time to try, at least.
