Do you have to be in park to get fastpass?

More specifically, I want to head to Disneyland first with the kids so was wondering if my hubby could take all of our tickets over to DCA after we go in at Disneyland and get fastpasses for radiator springs, or do our tickets have to be scanned at DCA first?

Your tickets must be scanned for the park before you can get a fastpass. Once they are, you do not need to be in that particular park to get a fastpass.

To get FP's, your tickets just have to be activated in ONE of the parks, so if all of your tickets are scanned in Disneyland, yes, afterward your husband can go to DCA and get you FP's

Thanks Sonnyjane! I thought it would work but my husband will be annoyed at me if it does not so I figured I better make 100% sure. Have you every used this method? If it works it would be great because we can go on a bunch of rides during that first hour at Disneyland while he waits for a RSR FP

Yes, I can attest that it definitely works as can many others on the board. It's a great perk!

Just make sure he is through the DCA gate at rope drop. The lines for the RSR FPs are still ridiculous and they are running out quickly. I was just there and minutes after rope drop, the queu went all the around CTC and around another queu. He will be able to get them only if he is there for rope drop and not much later...

A week ago today, I arrived 45 mins after park opening, and there was no FP line and was able to get FP for 8pm. I just walked up. They ran out about 90 mins after park opening.

Just got back Thursday and they were out within an our of rope drop. I lined up 10 minutes before early entry ended and got 1:05pm...the line behind me was crazy long
