Are you doing anything special? Are you having an election night party? Are you going to even watch the coverage, or are you just going to go to bed?

We usually go to a party, but I have class Tuesday night. You'd figure in a political science program, they'd give us the day off or something. ;) Instead, I am going to make some appetizers and then dh and I will watch the returns together. :hyper:

I plan to DIS while I listen to my DH scream at the television.

Don't plan to watch the election coverage and I don't plan to post to any political threads :)

So funny that you posted this question. My girlfriend and I were just talking about this the other day. I am not at all into politics.....she is more than me. But back in the election of 92...and truthfully....I can't remember who it was....BUT....Shelley came by that night and we had a "election party"....it was really fun....and we were talking about it....I think she actually took the following day off from work too.....

Anyway...we were just talking about doing it again this time...and she actually said she is considering it......since it is a TOTAL big thing ( I think:confused: ) this time!!

Actually no... my dad is going in for a procedure that day so I will be off half the day and probably just relaxing and hanging close to the phone to make sure he's okay :)

I'll probably do what I did in 2000 and 2002 - watch the early returns at my parents and then head home. I get so much of my news from the internet that I don't like being away from my computer for too long on Election night.

For the past several election cycles I was lucky enough to be working for a very successful local politician so always attended huge functions.

Since my candidate lost his campaign earlier this year (poor Howard), I guess I will be popping popcorn and sitting in front of the TV with DH and keeping our fingers crossed on the outcome.

I'll be home watching Dan Rather blabber...and Tim Russert make sense of it all.

I'll be at WDW!!! My DH will be rushing us out of Fantasmic at MGM to go back to the room for an early night so he can watch the news all night I'm sure!!!

If we were home, we'd be glued to the TV. No party though. Just our little family.

We'll be packing those last minute items too! We have to be at Newark Airport at 6:00 a.m. the next morning, so I probably won't even stay up long enough to know the outcome. And even if my choice of candidate loses, by the time I'll know it, I won't care - we'll be on our way to see the MOUSE! :)

Nope. It's my birthday and we are not doing anything because Chris will be glued to the tv and the internet.

He even took the next day off from work. I'll be going.

Nothing fun. Unfortunately I will be at work, setting up for the Half-Yearly sale that starts the next day. I will most likely be there till at least midnight. Maybe by the time I get home I will know who won!

I'll be poll watching, probably some phone banking afterwards, and then attending a large election night event !

Same as every other Presidential election night - I'll make a bunch of "finger food" and appetizers, and we'll watch the election returns.

I will be at sea, on my way to Costa Rica. The only thing I need to hear is the final result. My daughter and her boyfriend are going to the Democratic Gala in Albuquerque, so that should be exciting for them. :)

DH has already said he will be going to bed early - he can't handle watching it like I can. I already told him to expect to be sleeping alone that night - I'll be taking in the caffeine and camped out in front of the TV all night. I'll admit, I'm not sure what the point will be since we probably won't know anything for sure that night. But after 2000's entertaining election night, I don't want to miss it! (I'm sure I'll be looking to the DIS for company)

As much as I'd like to see the results, having a PS at 8:25am for CRT on the 3rd I hope to be able to get some sleep.

Do you think if I ask nicely they could postpone the announcement of who wins till our surprise ends?

A link to our plans...........
(http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=668468)...........what do you think?

Our vacation begins in 2 days.......and its still a secret?

Keith

DH and I plan on getting the kids to bed EARLY watching the coverage and eating tons of appetizers I've bought. We figure it's going to be a LONG LONG night!
