Do You Have An 'Open' House?

I grew up in a very "open" home and this is the way DH and I decided to be too. My kids have friends stay overnight a few nights every month, and we have friends and family who live far away or abroad, who visit us a few times each year. Everyone around us knows they don´t have to call first to come and visit, and we always have food for anyone who would like to join

I don't, because DFi and I live in a condo and there's just not much room to accommodate people. My best friend does occasionally crash on our couch when we go out and she drinks a little too much. But otherwise, not really.

My parents on the other hand.. oh my. They moved this past February from Iowa to Clearwater, Florida. Before they moved, they made it well known to our extended family that people were welcome to stay with them and people have definitely taken them up on their offer. Since they've moved, they've had.. my 13 year old cousin, my uncle, my grandma, two of their friends, and DFi and I stay at their place - each for at least a week at a time. My mom called me last night and said they've got at least one person staying at their house every night from tonight through Feb 20th.

Yeah, we have an 'open' house! With 5 other siblings though, I really wouldn't expect to be any other way.
