Am I the only person in the world who doesn't own an iPod? I've had quite a few people tell me I should get this song or video for my iPod and it never occured to them that I wouldn't have one. So, seriously does EVERYONE have one?

I don't and I don't have any intention of getting one either...in general I think Mp3 players are a rip off...they want to charge you hundreds of dollars for one and then want you to only use I-TUnes to load songs on...which costs the same as just buying an actual cd...so no thanks...

DH has the 30GB, and aside from our laptop it's the most used thing we own. He listens to it on the bus to and from work, and he listens to it most of the time he is at work. He is in software, and listening to it really helps him when he is coding. Mostly he listens to podcasts, but we have all the cds loaded on it too. He also uses it to keep small text files. He has his book "wish" lists stored on it, so when we go to a used bookstore, he knows what books he's looking for.

We both really want an iTouch, probably next year.

yes, I do!! It's 8g and perfect for me. It's not even half full yet.

I love that my new car has an auxilary jack and I just plug my ipod in without having to find a clear station. Best feature in a car.

Amen. My old car had a cassette player in it, so I could at least use that adapter; I can't deal with trying to find a clear radio station to use the FM transmitter, so I was thrilled to bits that my new car has an AUX input. :goodvibes

I don't buy from Itunes. I think since December 2006 I have bought maybe 3 or 4 songs from there. Most of the time I download from other places on the net and load onto my Ipod. Or I've also loaded a few cd's onto my Ipod.

You don't have to buy from their store. You don't have to buy anything besides the Ipod. Also, I have burned cd's from the playlists on my Ipod. The Itunes program used to load the Ipod also comes free.

Actually, Itunes can be cheaper because you don't have buy a whole CD if you only want a few songs.

DH is on his second, I'm on my third (might upgrade again later this year), DD13 is on her second and so is DD5.

We love our Ipods!!!:lovestruc

At first I wasn't interested in an iPod at all. Then DH got a first generation Nano, and it seemed pretty interesting to me. So I got a second generation Nano for myself, and now I'm hooked! I actually spend much more time listening to Disney World related podcasts than I spend listening to music. Now I just wish I had gotten one with a larger than 2 gig hard drive, LOL.

I got an ipod because I wanted to subscribe to audible so I can download audio books. I have used audible for 2 years and love my ipod. If I cant get to sleep on a nightshift I use it to get back to sleep.

I have 3 iPods! I havent bought a CD in over 3 years!
60g Video iPod
iPod touch
iPod nano

As for itunes being more expensive I use audible for audio books and was going to us one of my credits this month for a David Eddings book called The Hidden City at audible it costs £19.99 itunes has the same book at £5.95.

I have 2. I have a 60 gb ipod classic and just got an 8 gb itouch for Mother's Day. I wish I could get a 60 gb itouch because I would rather carry that around - it does so much more than the ipod.

I got DH a shuffle a few years ago, then ds wanted one. They've both upgraded to a Nano and a Touch, so younger ds and dd got the shuffles.

Personally, I've never used any of them...

We're a Zune family although I am thinking of getting an 8GB Sony. Any negatives about these? :confused3
