Do you have a special way you countdown to your trip?

I'm looking to make up something to help the kids countdown to our Disney trip. Last time I had a months worth of Mickey heads and they'd remove one each day leading up to the trip. I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas????

A coupld of years ago I printed a cute disney paper chain off of a site. We removed one of the links every morning. I can't remember what site I used, I'll try to find it.

I was just going to post the same idea. I did this when I was younger, counting down to Christmas. It was really neat seeing the chain get shorter and shorter! And it took time to make it, so it'll keep the kids occupied.

Well it's not a tangible thing per se, but from the time we book the trip (up to a year or so in advance) dh and I will call each other at some point during the day and say this,

me: "What are you doing?"
him: "Fighting crime."
me: "Are you busy?"
him: "no, why?"
me: "Good. Go home and pack. It's only xxx days till Disney."

It never fails to amuse us (yeah, we're simple). Now that we're down to 39 days it's starting to get serious!!!

We do a paper chain, too. We have done them for a couple of years now, and my kids STILL love it. (11, 13, and 15)
We put the end of the chain right above the door, and the last person out the door for our trip gets to take it down.
We always book in January for our December trips, so our chains are quite long to start with.
Right now our chain is looking smaller. It only covers 3 walls!!!
149 days to go!
