Do you have a phobia??

I do, mice!

I hate this time of year because one or two of the little buggers always manage to find their way into our home, even with De-con under the house, behind the stove, etc.

Yesterday was the day I had feared for the past few months....there was a mouse in the house! :scared1: I had to wait 3 hours for my DH to get home before I knew the problem would be taken care of and I was afraid to even put my feet on the floor. The mouse is gone but all day I still had that fear in me that I would see another one.

I love it when people tell me "but mice can't hurt you." Oh yes they can, a mouse can cause a young 30 year old like myself to almost have a heart attack! :earseek:

What's your phobia?

clowns(TERRIFIED)
bunnies (recently developed)
Crickets/grasshoppers (I will cry if you get one near me. I swear)

I hate Hate HATE Frogs!!! My mom says there was a frog incedent when I was a baby, & I've been terrified of them since

I'm with you, rnd4life. The only mouse I like is Mickey. :teeth:

I've been terrified of them ever since I was young and a mouse jumped out of a dresser drawer that was in the garage. Oddly enough, this happened to me TWICE (in different places) and I've known ever since that mice have it in for me.

We get them at work occasionally and it freaks me out so much that I won't put my feet on the floor. They're lucky I even show up until they show me the bodies. :teeth:

I am terrified of snakes. Even garden snakes. Also I have a terrible fear of heights. Climbing onto a step ladder is so hard for me!!!!

LOL! That's what I told my DH last night, Mickey is the only mouse I like.

Seriously, I do have a true fear of mice and I know it's weird because they're so small but I was almost in tears until I knew the mouse was gone.

mice/rats
snakes

we get mice at work too and it freaks me out every time I see one. I had one with me behind the service desk one night....I could see it out of the corner of my eye while I was helping a customer and it took evrything I had in me not to scream and run away!

We have snakes in the yard too and I freeze in my tracks whenever I see them....they are just garden snakes, but they freak me out anyway!

Small spaces, being confined.
I almost came out of my skin during the season finale of CSI last year. He was the man not to just shoot himself. I wanted to shoot MYSELF, just watching it.

Snakes are probably the biggest fear for me.

Heights is another biggie. Crowded places scare me, although someone told me that sounded like social anxiety. :confused3

It's funny with me about mice. I'm totally not scared of them, okay. If you have a pet mouse, I'll like it and want to pet it. I can hold it.

But you set that sucker free in my house and I'm a screaming ninny! We get them every fall and spring and it totally freaks me out -- I leap on the furniture and cry and scream. It's so bizarre! And seriously, sitting here thinking about them, I'm not scared, but if I see one I'll go nuts.

We have a dog and a cat. The cat is worthless but the dog is a great hunter. :dog2: She's a great mouser.

I have a terrible social phobia. I make up for it by being funny. When I tell people how bad I have it they can't believe it.

I have had this most of my life and it is a hard thing to live with.

I'm very claustraphobic! I've had to have MRI's and Cat Scans before and they had to knock me out beforehand. In full elevators I have to stand in a corner with 2 sides of me against the walls. In a theater or at a table I need to sit on the end. I know, i'm weird.

I'm terribly afraid of heights. I'm even afraid of heights for other people!! (does that make sense???)

Also, pretty claustrophobic. Can't stand anything over my face. Don't care much for elevators.

Bees. And ornets, wasps, etc.

Any type of bee and I'm senseless.

Guess I just stepped on too many of them when I was a child (ran around outside barefoot). :confused3

I don't mind looking at snakes from far away or with them behind glass.
Mice don't bother me. They just startle me on occasion. :)

Midgets?

Well, then hate me.
I guess I'm considered a tall one since I'm only 4'7". :confused3 And Petite womens clothes start at 4'10". :p

Snakes and the dentist.

Both have sent me into full panic attacks. Even snakes in a zoo behind glass will get me upset. I can't deal w/ them.
As for the dentist- never a problem until a few yrs ago. I had a pretty painful expierence and the dentist kept blowing me off. Now, I have to use a mild sedative to get me there even for a cleaning. I just am terrified now.

Yes! Whenever I see someone on a ladder or up high, I get this really squidgy feeling in my tail bone, and it's even worse when it's one of my kids (like even on monkey bars). Is that how you feel?

Spiders, definitely spiders. I am also scared of heights, but spiders win for my biggest phobia. I would rather stand on top of the CN Tower (gratuitous local landmark reference) then to have a spider crawl on me. In fact, I would rather fall FROM the CN Tower than have a spider crawl on me. I would freak. I would die. If hell exists, it will be filled with spiders. I'm going for a drink now.

I have a strange fascination with midgets! I have no clue why. Any documentary that is on about them, i HAVE to watch. I just think they are cute.

Anyways, i am terrified of thunderstorms. I have to hide under the covers!!

I'm terrified of driving on roads that may be icy at all.....does that count? It started after I had a wreck on ice 2 years ago. DH thinks I'm crazy, but I'm thinking of staying home tomorrow and not going to my aunt's because it's supposed to rain/snow in the morning then be below freezing by noon.
