Do you have a park hopper option if you are on the DDP

We are debating on whether or not we need to get the park hoppers and as I am trying to plan out these ADR's it seems like we will need to have one in order to be able to eat at the restaurants as some are in Epcot but we do plan to visit that park induring the day but have an ADR for dinner there that night. Does this make sense?? I am thinking we need to get them to make likfe alot easier :)

If you want to eat in a park, but not spend the day there, you will need to add PH. It does make it easier to plan meals. If you don't have the PH and want to eat at EPCOT, you'll have to use a ticket day to enter.

I never go to disney without the park hopper. I like to make my meals whereever I want to and not neccessarily the park I am visiting during the day.

On the counterpoint, we're doing DxDP for a week without park hoppers. We made our key ADRs first, and used those to define our "park days" schedule, and then filled in the remaining ADRs from there.

Would it have been nice to be able to have additional dinners at Epcot? Absolutely. Are there other options, though? Absolutely again.

It can be done, and it can be done in a manner that isn't overly restrictive. It just takes a mixture of planning and flexibility.

It certainly can be done. We like the hopper, but honestly, we are as fond of some of the hotel restaurants as we are of anything. So if you extend your flexibility to dining at the hotels, you wouldn't have an issue without a hopper.

But having a hopper does let you go into Epcot more nights than not for dinner - and Epcot is a very nice evening park.

Keep in mind that you can always had the hopper at any time, even while on your trip. Figure out your ADRs and then if you need or want the hopper, add it later.

We had hopper for past two trips so I can't imagine being without it.

We decided not to pay for the park hopper but we are on the dining plan. I agree it made it a little harder. Basically I needed to decide which park which day and make an ADR at that park. But either way if you intend to keep your ADR, you have to be at that park at that time.

Edited to add that I have small children - 4 and 6 - and I think 1 park per day will wear them out. Maybe if I had older children or just adults I'd consider adding the PH.

This should not be interpreted as meaning that it's possible to get another "ticket day" admission to a different park with the same multi-day WDW ticket that you've already used that day.

In other words, Disney does not allow you to use a 10-day basic ticket to go to parks for 7 days, with a 2nd park on 3 of those days.

If you want to hop on the same day, you need a PH.

Here's my two cents on PH: on my last trip I bought the PH pass, and we went to one park in the morning and another in the eve. I planned our TS meal at the eve park. I will NEVER do this again! My grand gathering group was so tried of riding in buses by the end of the day, and having to rush from one park to another just to make dining reservations. On the next trip I'm not buying the PH pass, we are only going to one park each day, and if we are not at a park we will eat at a resort or Downtown Disney. Making our vacation a lot less complicated. Hope this helps!

Honestly I wouldn't go without a Park Hopper. It's totally worth it IMO. We go to one park in the morning/early afternoon, and we eat our CS lunch at that park. Then we go back to our resort to relax/nap/swim and then we go to another park (usually the one with EMH) where we have an ADR for dinner there. We love it this way and couldn't imagine not having the Park Hopper.

Since we are DVC members we are going on longer trips from now on (10 nights), with 6 or 7 days at the parks. We love eating at the WS in Epcot. We do not plan to go back to AK any time soon, so 2 days will be spent at MK, 2 at DHS, 2 or 3 at Epcot (if we decide to get the 3rd day for Epcot, it would be only to walk over to the WS when it opens at 11AM from BWV, and enjoy a nice afternoon there and dinner). With 2 days at Epcot, it allows us to dine in 4 different countries if we want to...2 lunches and 2 dinners. And with a 3rd day, 2 more if we want, or maybe a dinner at the Garden Grill for the kids.

We do not get a park hopper, at least not yet. We could spread out our park days and make our trip less hectic without it. We also LOVE the resort restaurants and do not need park admission for those! DTD also has some terrific places we are going to try!

I always get it but I find I make my meals by what park I am visiting. I could probably do it with out the hopper but we like to use the last two days to hop. I follow the first half of our week by the EMH so we go to that park all day and I schedule meals where we are or at a resort that is closets to that park and then the last couple of days hop. We always go to Disney with DXDDP so that is how I do it.

I love parkhoppers, and not just for dining.

Last year we left for AK on a sunny day. By the time we got off Kali River Rapids, soaked, it was cloudy. Half an hour later, it was a pouring windy day that didn't lessen. We were wet and cold and miserable.

We went back to the resort, changed, and hopped to Epcot. Our day was saved.

We are doing it w/o PH. It helps that we enjoy a lot of the hotel restaurants so we aren't always trying to eat a park. Out of 8 days, I think there are only 3-4 park restaurants we are eating at.

I figured out which park I wanted to go to each day, then fit my restaurants in. I agree Epcot is the hardest. We didn't want to have to do two full days there but we wanted two dinners. So we ended up doing our arrival day (no park) and then one other day during the trip.

It is harder, but I think worth it. I keep asking myself, is this dinner/parade/whatever really worth the extra $200 the PH cost? For us, I'd rather adjust one meal or two and use the money for other things on the trip.

My children are young and have never been to WDW, so we chose not to get the PH this time, but did get the DDP. I first planned which park we'd go to each day (well, 5 of the 6 days) and then found an ADR that worked. On the last day I want to go back to which every park the kids like the most so I made our ADR at a resort restaurant.

Maybe next time when they are older we will do PH.
