Do you have a name that is either misspelled or mispronounced?

My first name is Andrea, but I've gotten:
Anadera
Audrey
Audrea
Andraya
Ondree
Angela

And my last name is grammatically incorrect (instead of "I before E except after C") so everyone misspells my last name. (Palmeiro)
So people pronounce it:
Palmeeaero
Palmario
Palamero
Palamino

But to you guys, I'm simply known as...
-MrsAPalm

I get Patti instead of Patty sometimes but it doesn't bother me. My last name gets mispronounced all the time by telemarketers(and it's not that hard of a name...pretty common)so I feel no remorse in saying,"she's not here", because there is no one by the name they are saying that is here!;)

Like kylara, my name is Kathi... it is never spelled right if I don't tell them.
My given name is Kathleen Ellen, I hate Kath-A-leen, it's supposed to be 2 syllables, not 3!
and when I graduated high school they said Kathleen Elaine! I wanted to go back and say, that's not me!
No one gets my last name- DeYoung_ over the phone, I pronounce it very carefully, I really don't have an accent and things come addressed as Dion anyway
then of course IF they do get it right it comes as De Young or Deyoung. Most of the time I don't waste my time correcting it.....
I also get called Katie a lot, I think people see the I in Kathi and don't really read it.
My high school principal called my Kath-i ( making the i a loooong i)...he was being funny, but at least he knew how to spell it! ;)

And the worst is when I go to pick up something and they ask me what my last name is, I answer DeYoung and they hear Dee Young, so they are looking under Y instead of D...... they must think I'm really stupid since that asked for last name and they think I gave them my first and last LOL
People think my husband is Richard D. Young all the time!

Kathi-- not Kathy, Cathy, Kathey, Kathie, Cathie, Cathey or even Cathee :)

Eeyore, my last name starts with De too, however its just a capital D and the rest small letters. We get the D'... or the De, then captial next letter, or De space, next letter, etc...
I cant really complain about people getting the last name wrong though because when DH & I first exchagned numbers he gave me his business card. This was the first time I found out his last name and I pronounced it totally wrong. I gave the De, the "Day" sound. So, Im just as guilty as everyone else, but it is aggravating, especially with a name that should be so easy.

People love to spell Michael as "Micheal".

For some reason most sales people can't pronounce my last name. yes it's three syllables, but if you sound it out one syllable at a time it's pretty easy. If someone calls and butchers my name I always say, sorry no one here by that name and hang up. At least I'm telling the truth, right? ;)

Yes, I have this happen alot!

My name is Leah... (like lee-aahh) and I see soooo many variations of spellings, and I hear soooo many different ways to pronounce it, it's unreal... it's only 4 letters, it shouldn't be THAT hard! haha!!

For some reason in high school, all my friends from Hong Kong couldn't pronounce my first name correctly. Always Kelvin or Calvin.

It's KEV-IN.... SIGH... LOL.. :)

In recent years a lot of people pronounce our last name

Car- dee- yo

It's Cardillo, with the L's pronounced as L's

It drives me crazy. No one used to pronounce it like that, but now it seems everyone is.

My name is Stacey , and I have been called "Tracey" so many times its not funny.

And of course, people always spell it "Stacy"! GRRRRRRRR!!

My name is Ann---with no E on the end. Lots of people put an e on the end, some stop when you correct them, others (like a friend of mine back in high school) "just think it looks better and is supposed to have an 'e' on th end"

My maiden name is 9 letter Polish-ski name beginning with 2 consonants ...yes two consonants, both pronounced, but no apostrophe or vowel between them. In grammar school the nuns who had had one of my 2 older brothers were OK.....the new nuns would pause in the D names at Ann.....?? and I would just raise my hand and say "here" LOL

DD's name is Meghan -with-an-H ....which she knows is the "right" spelling ;) but most of the keychains, and assorted personalized paraphernalia has - Megan. It makes me madder when teachers spell HER name wrong than when someone puts an e on mine for some reason.

I am a Kathaleen. No one ever gets the a in there but I don't really care-I always go by Kathy or Katrinka to my dad. My son is Jeffery-it's my maiden so it really bugs when he gets Jeffrey. He always refers to himself as Jeff and at first it bugged me and never thought I'd shorten my maiden name but I do now.

My last name is always mispronounced. It's 2 syllables, but people always find different ways to say it with 3 syllables. People say it wrong so often, that sometimes I even say it that way!

My name, Leila, is pronounced "Lee-Lah" but I get a lot of Lila, Lisa, Lilly, Layla, Lee-I-Lah and so on. That never really bothered me.

What does bother me is when I'm talking on the phone and people repeatedly call me Lena. Or Nina.

I have to say: my grandma's name was Ginny and it never EVER occurred to me to call her Guinea. Do these people drink Guin? How funny.

I have had the biggest laugh reading this thread.
