If you are working a job that pays money, what best describes your current situation:

I have a JOB (A place to go to each day to earn money and pay the bills. The work is basically boring and I would hate to be doing this for a length of time. The work is basically just something to pay the bills. I was not trained specifically to do this work in college or trade school)

I have a POSITION (The work I do each day is my career. I hope that my current job will lead me to even greater work within this field. I trained to do this type of work in college or trade school. My work involves a unique set of skills that only people trained in the work can do. I feel like I accomplished something when I go home from work)

Tell us about your job or position.

I have neither also, although I'm trying really hard to fix that problem. When I do work, it's my career. That being said, I'm at a point in my life where I don't want to climb the corporate ladder anymore. I want to stay where I am professionally and enjoy my private life a little more.

I thought I had a position but 8 years later it is quickly turning into a job that I can't fathom doing for the rest of my life. It is upper managment, great pay etc..., but soooo boring I'm about to go crazy.

until 2001 I had a nice position with a Fortune 500 company. expense account, company vehicle, nice incentives, etc. but the stress got to me. I didn't want to plan my schedule 3 weeks out. I didn't want to produce big results every day. I lost the competitive edge. I was offered a government job and I jumped. now when I go home, work stays at work. it's boring, but it's a lot better. and the salary package was about the same.

I have a career. I teach, so I don't do it for the money! With my Math degree, I could have made a lot more doing something else. But I love kids and I love being in the classroom and wouldn't have it any other way. My DH has a job, so we're working towards him being the one to stay at home with the kids one day...

I have one position in a company here in Orlando that I love.
I have a job at a guest service desk that I enjoy doing on the weekends, although I don't see it going anywhere,
and a job at Universal that I work seasonally, but I still love it.

I have a job on my way to a career! Basically I am moving up in my company hoping very soon to be in the creative/film division. I went to school for silm, so I'm gonna use that darn degree! :)
