I was wondering if you all have a favorite peacock story at FW? We got a kick out of the peacocks last year. There was one particular aggressive peacock who chased after one of the buses as the bus pulled away from the bus stop. It was hysterical! :rotfl2: If you have any peacock stories we would love to hear them!! :flower:

We watched a peacock strut around proudly displaying his feathers to his own reflection in a motorhome wheel that was really shiny! It was hilarious! :rotfl2:

I don't remember which year this was (haven't been to Disney World in a couple years), but there was a motor home on display by the bus stop near Pioneer Hall, and a peacock was admiring himself in the glass of the door....It's one of my favorite pictures! :)

Hi: Just wondering are the peacocks all over in fort wilderness. Also if you stay in the cabins, are the walkways lit well at night for strolling, and how about the mosquitoes there. Sounds like I might like to stay there as I love the animal life in florida.

They tend to hang out at the marina and the loops nearby. I have seen them down almost as far as the meadows however.

They are really tame. I have seen them eating grain put out for them near the Settlement Trading Post and ignore people that buzz through. Once I saw a golf cart run over its tail and not be bothered.

Hi Deb, The only time we got eaten alive by mosquitoes was at night when we stood on the beach to watch the fireworks in MK. Now I know to bring bug spray for this year. Live and Learn :teeth:

We returned form the magic kingdom late one evening and returned in our golf cart to our cabin. The next morning we discovered that a peacock had been sitting in our golfcart and had left a little calling card on the floor of the golf cart. One of us had obviously stepped in it. We couldn't figure out who until a day later when we went through security at the airport. We had one way tickets returning home to DC so we were subjected to extra security. Everyone in our party was subjected to a full body scan with those wands thingys. Everyone was a-ok except my sisters shoe which set off alarms. They took her shoe away for closer examination and retruned a minute later to gives the ok to go through. We figured that we finally had our answer to who had stepped in the poo! :goodvibes

I remember the last time I went to Ft. Wilderness. I forget what year it was, but me & my family were walking through Pioneer Hall, & I saw a beautiful albino peacock. :teeth: All I could do was stand & look in awe 'cause it was so beautiful.

Yes - the white ones are beautiful!!

Every trip we go on, the 3yo has to go find the cockpeas. I guess they go well with the raddits and orangebadillas (rabbits & armadillos). I hate that she is growing up. :guilty:

Too funny! ...It is true though, that they grow up so fast. While DD has always loved WDW, she was very afraid of the characters. Now that she's 7 she can't wait to get pictures and autographs of all of the characters!
