Hi all!!!

I just returned from an SDV (scrappers dream vacation) this weekend and have decided that I need my very own crop room. SO.....I wanted to see how many of you have rooms and if you would mind posting pictures of your room. I need ideas as to how I should layout the room, where shelves should go, etc etc etc.

Any suggestions/advice is welcome.

Thanks,
Kristy

No, I do not have a crop room. But if I had the extra room I would. Right now I scrap on my kitchen table :) Hope you had fun at SDV :)

I don't have a Crop Room but I do have a Stamp Room. I'm a rubber stamper and since we're empty nesters I can have one bedroom all to myself. I have three tall bookshelves on one wall where I store stamps and supplies. I use lots of plastic drawer units to hold everything. Then I have a long table on each of two other walls. My stamp pads are in a carousel on one table and all my paper is in two plastic crates with hanging folders on another. That gives me a lot of room to spread out when I'm stamping.

We've been looking for a new house and my sweet DH always checks out the bedrooms and picks out the larger of the extra bedrooms for my new Stamp Room.

If you have the room I highly recommend it. You don't have to waste time setting up and cleaning up. More time for "playing".

I did have my own scrappin space in our old house in the "sitting room" our our master bedroom. I used an old computer desk and some shelving from Target to store all my stuff. Now that we are moving to a new house, I'll have an official "room" off my kids playroom that I can LOCK and walk away with my mess all around. I can hardly wait.

Yes, I have a scrapping room. It's an extra bedroom but also has a lot of other stuff - besides scrappin' stuff - stored in there. I'd post pics of it, but it's never been neat enough to take any. We're actually in the process of talking to the builder of our house about adding a third bay in our garage. If we do we'll also finish out some of the attic and I'll get a real scrapping room that I can design and set up as I wish.

I do - well actually it's a multipurpose room. We finished our basement last spring and when we were planning I told my husband I wanted a room for me. My daughter has her room and my husband has an office plus the bedroom. I just didn't have a room to be my own. It's 10 X 12 (roughly).

On the west wall right inside my door (to the right) I have an Iris cart and 2 boxes of paper (it's one of the only places we could store it). Then on the south wall I have a 4 foot foldable hardtop table. Under that table I have two carts that hold paper in one and stickers in the other). I store my crop bag under there as well. On the east wall I have a 6 foot banquet table that the 4' table meets up with. (I'm basically going counterclockwise from my door) Next to the table is a 2 drawer file cabinet that I got from my mom's after she passed away. This houses my 8 1/2 X 11 papers and on top sits my 13" TV/DVD combo I got from my dad for Christmas. Next to that is the right side of my desk - where my computer is sitting and a hutch that has some magazine holders with the my scrapbooking magazines. I have an arm on the left side of the desk and that's on the north wall with my printer on top and where I pay my bills. The on the west wall on the other side of my door I have two metal file cabinets with a nice piece of wood on top that use to be my "desk". That's where I keep my volunteer stuff. Right now it's a mess but I've been meaning to take pictures and post them - I will next time I get it cleaned up. I had to use my one table at a family reunion and I just haven't put everything back yet.

I love my room. I tried sponge painting and it didn't turn out too well but I still like it. On the walls I have some old pictures - I have an 11 X 15 picture of my brother and I that was taken when I was about 6 years old and under that I have the cross that was given to us when my mom died, on another wall I have an 11 X 15 picture of my daughter and I when she was about 4. On another wall I have a picture of my daughter when she was about 7 and on that same wall I have my senior high school pictures that were my moms as well as my baby shoes that she had bronzed when I was little. I think this is why I love my room. It has so many awesome pictures that I cherish deeply - and other memories.

i will soon have a dedicated "space" but not a full room - for inspiration you need to check out some of the rooms on 2peas - if you goto peanut gallery you can then click on "view by categories" and then there is a section marked "srcap rooms" - some of them are amazing!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! That link is perfect!!! I worked last night on measuring my room and figuring out everything that I need to put back in there...so now I just need to figure out how I want to layout the room and all my stuff. My one issue is making sure to leave enough room to grow! I learned so many new techniques at SDV this weekend, that I know I'm going to be buying more stuff and want to leave room to store it all :)

I have to do all my scrapbooking on the dining room table, which is a real pain come mealtimes. We have a spare room I could use, but I hate being shut away upstairs. I like being centrally located so I can keep an eye on everyone!! Plus I need the huge table for working space...I spread about quite a lot!!!

I HIGHLY recommend IRIS carts at Staples and Office Depot for storage,
I bought mine years ago - and I love them!
never thought I would fill them all - and well I should buy another one now - lol but it makes me go through my stuff if I don't and not hoard!
I have a drawer for just pens, markers, a drwers for adhesives, a drawer for punches, etc...

I have a small space that was meant for storage ( I think?) between our laundry room and the garage, so that's become my craft area. We've been revamping this past week so DD7 could work with me.

DH just added this table for me. He made it MDF and I can attached a sheet to be able to use the underneath for storage and not have to look at it. It's higher than a normal table because I usually stand while I'm working and didn't want to have to lean over (am I the only one that does this?) I have a stool I can use if I want to though.

This was my old work space, now that's pretty much where DD has her stuff. Junk on that top shelf that I need to go thru.

DH a floor threshold, cut it to size and my stamps fit on it nicely. Also, put up a dry erase board so I don't forget stuff, lol.

this is a close up of my new work space. We got the closet shelfing at Lowes.

just extra craft storage stuff that I still need to organize. I've stamped words on the wall that shows what scrapbooking means to me ( family, memories, fun, friends, love, etc.) Oh yes, lighting needs to be addressed too.

I just use a corner of the dining room. I want to be able to scrap while being with the rest of the family. It is a pain though to put everything away all the time.

Hate to even post my picture of my little bit of heaven after cass's area! LOL! But it isfuntional and works for me!

Of course this picture was taken right after I put it all together so it isn't that neat anymore!
Plus I bought 2 of those iris carts.

Spinning....you have a great nook there.

Cass thanks for the link. Your room is awesome. I don't know if mine will ever look that wonderful. I did get a great idea from seeing your space. I had never considered putting my table in front of the window. That way I could look out at our Cul-de-sac and see people moving about while I work.

Hi. Some day our spare junk bedroom will be all MINE.I really want a Disney theme and have been buying lots to decorate and storage. I have also bought the huge pack of Tinkerbelle wall stickers. Then the other day Walmart has matching border. I can't waite and its taking tooo long, but some day soooon.

LOL Spinning!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I love your "little nook" !!!
I especially love the little Disney touches! ::MickeyMo

I have my own CORNER in the playroom/computer room!! I am working on getting the toys moved down into the basement!!!

This pic is old! In front of the cd holders on the desk there are MANY spools of ribbon hanging. I have also acquired another plastic container full of eyelets from BARGAINPACK and a separate basket for the ribbon that wouldn't fit with the rest!! Also another basket of Sizzix dies and two more Sizzlet alphabets have arrived!!
