Do you have a best friend?

I would have to say no. I do have very good friends, but no one particular person stands out as a "best friend". It makes me sad actually. I see other people who do have a best friend who they are so completely comfortable with and can say or do anything. I don't have that sadly. :( Dh thinks I'm crazy to be sad about it since I do have a very active social life. I guess the grass is always greener........;)

Yep, I met my BF the first day of 7th grade, and 25 years later we are still having fun. We are off to Disney World in about 11 hours :cool1:

Yes...my DH is my best friend! :lovestruc

I do have a best friend and I'm truly lucky. We've been friends almost 14 years and at this point we are family.

I do have a best friend..Emily.. she is 3 years older than me and she was at the hospitol when I was born ( my mom and her mom used to be very close) and we have been inseperable since then. She even moved 5 hours away but we both take turn making the weekend trips back and forth to spend time together.

ETA:that was almost 22 years ago..ahh the memories. We were mischevious children :teeth:

I had a group of best friends all through middle school and high school. We had periods when two people would pair off and become a little bit closer (usually when the others had boyfriends), but overall we were all "best friends". I'm in college now and though I'm still close with all of them one of the girls has become truly my best friend, it feels more like we're sisters. I call her mom my second mom. I can't imagine life without her!

Actually, I consider DH to be my very best friend. He's the one I tell EVERYTHING (whether he's interested or not.) :teeth:

I'm very close with my sister and my niece (who is an adult.) I have several co-workers who are good friends--we do things together after hours and at each others' homes.

And then I have some really good friends that I don't see as often as I'd like. I've known one friend since we were 6--she just called the other day to see if I wanted to see The Witch, the Lion, and the Wardrobe because we'd read it the same time when we were kids. :teeth: And a couple of my best friends from high school got married to each other--how great is that? So, DH and I do things with them but not as often as we'd like.

It seems like when you have kids and work, there just isn't a whole lot of extra time for friends--which is really sad.

My best friend and I met in Kindergarten 38 years ago. We still talk several times a week and get our families together monthly.

My best friend is actually a guy... and yes we dated many year ago. My dh is friends with him too. I can talk to him about EVERYTHING. We go to the movies every so often but mostly talk on the phone and online. Annoyingly enough though, his wife isn't so happy with our friendship.

This may sound strange, but my friend of 30 years and my older DD godmother would be considered my best friend. But I don't confide with her at times that I may do with my good friends I met in the neighborhood.

I'm happy to have very good friends, and I don't feel the need for one of them to be my "best friend"

I met my best friends when we were in kindergarten also!! (41 years ago!) and wish we were closer distance wise, but when we are together it's like we never were apart...........and thank goodness for email!! I picture us all as the red hat ladies in another 20 years!!!!

I have three - Two of the guys I know from 2nd grade - I always hang out with them or try to travel with them when we can all get away.

The other one is my friend in NC - I met her when I was 14 in Myrtle Beach - we exchanged addresses and she became my pen pal - now, me and her speak about 2 or 3 times a day. She is married and having a kid soon and I cant wait to make him the first ever North Carolina BORN Mets fan!! = )

Those are my three best friends! I have many other friends, but none I value more than those three!

I guess I do. We were "best friends" in high school, were in each other's weddings which were 2 weeks apart, and even though we don't go around claiming BFF now, we hang out still about 2 or 3 times a month and talk several times a week, she's almost like a sister to me.

I have 2, but they are from separate worlds. One is from High School although I met her in Kindergarten. We were always friends but we became Best Friends at a New Kids On the Block Concert. (yikes, I hate to admit that  ) She is more like my sister now and I call her DD my neice. We live about 3 hours apart but see each other whenever we can. My other is my college roommate. We were randomly matched as Freshman and lived together all 4 years. She is someone I can really talk to about anything. I am her DD's Godmother. She just moved to England though, so e-mail is the best way of communicating. I miss her! :flower:

My best friend lives down the street from me. i only call her my best friend because she's not my sister.

*Dianne is a close as a friend can be. She is the kind of friend who came over to take care of me when I was sick after I had my last baby--and cleaned the floors, washed all the clothes, made dinner and entertained the children to boot!

*Dianne is always game for a midnight trip to Wal-Mart :sunny: She will also roll out of bed to drive down to the children's hospital in the middle of the night when Christian had a major seizure.

*Dianne passes along great hand-me-downs. She never keeps a tally, though.

Our girls are both involved in a singing group that travels, so where they go we go. Sometimes we just take a road trip down to my mother's house(400 miles!) She didn't get upset when I got sick at her son's wedding and had to leave(it was obvious). She will even allow our gerbils to board at her house when we are out of town. Now THAT's a friend:earboy2:

I would have to say my best friend is someione I met online and that I have met in person and I chat with basically most of the time everyday unless she is doing something or I am busy doing something. We are not close in age. She is retired and I am a SAHM but we just have so much to talk about. She adores my children and we exchange Christmas gifts. She has seen me through some pretty dark times and I her with hurricane Ivan and Hurricane Rita doing so much damage to her and her families home. I wish she lived closer! I show her some of the wacky threads on the Dis from time to time. :rotfl:

dh is my best friend, but i'm assuming that's not what you mean.

other than dh, i haven't had a best friend since high school. i have a group of friends that i'm close to, but none are my "best friend".

I have three "best friends" . I am blessed by their caring natures.
