Do you guys ever consider original price of pin when trading?

I've recently become very interested in the Japan 100 Years of Magic Series, and have been offering some trades for them. Most offers are being accepted, and so I just went into the exchange rate calculator and noticed that the LE pins I am offering usually carry a retail price of twice or even three times as much as the Japanese pins. Now part of this may be that the yen is strong against the dollar, but I'm starting to wonder if I should be thinking more about this when asking for trades, all other things being equal (for example, edition size being the same). Does anyone ever consider price when trading, or do you think it is sort of irrelevant?

Thanks!

I consider that, but probably just as much consider how desirable the pin is.

I have one pin I bought an extra of at WDW, not looking at the price tag until I looked at my receipt. It's the $15 Ludwig spinner. Can't say I would purposely buy another $15 pin as a trader. -- Who knows -- Maybe I'll return it.
My sis was in DCA a few weeks ago and bought me some pins. :D One I didn't ask for, she just bought, was the two pin LE of Donald and Daisy painting Easter eggs. I paid $15.50 + CA sales tax. Yikes.
I don't do enough with the Easter pins from last year I collected.
So I put this two pin LE set up for trade. But I want to trade against something that is of equal value. And so far the TA requests I have replied to have remained unanswered when I state this. :(
So maybe these two will become good traders at the Poly or Cont pin meet next month. ;) (I hope) Or guess there's always Ebay.

...WE TRADE ONE PIN FOR ONE PIN, BUT SHE ALWAYS SENDS ME SOME SURPRISES AND I TRY AND DO THE SAME THING FOR HER. I LOVE THE JAPAN PINS SO I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE ONE PIN FOR ONE PIN THING.

I trade with 2 people from Japan. One goes by price. She converts the yens for me in American currency (easy way is Yen divided by 130 you get a round about idea) and that's how we trade.

My other friend is very easy he trades one pin for one and if I disagree we alway figure out a trade.

There's always a fair trade you both have to agree.
