Do you get wet on Splash Mountain?

Yes you do. I imagine it depends on the weight in the boat and even where you sit in it but you will get anywhere from a little wet to soaked.

If you put the smallest folks up front, the splash will be minimized. But when I sit up front, we get more wet than usual. And my 275lb friend got drenched when he was in the front.

We always put the little one in front, and the splash isn't terrible. But every once in a while we do still get it.

My experience has been the person in the very front gets drenched. The people in the back stay relatively dry. Last time, DH and I weren't too interested in getting completely soaked, so we asked for the last two seats and walked out with just a few splashes. The two people in front of us had their legs pretty drenched from water coming over the side and the two people in the very front were completely soaked.

We've had everything from 'not a drop' to 'soaked to the skin'. I know people say smaller in front, but we've been in all kinds of 'configurations' and it just doesn't seem to matter.

Don't try to plan. Just figure you'll get wet and make up your mind to enjoy it.

BTW, our 'soaked to the skin' was the same night we were to dine at Club 33 (thanks to an anonymous benefactor). We barely had enough time to beat feet to our room at the Grand and dry off, change clothes, and fix makeup. I don't think we've ever moved so fast in the parks before! What on earth were we thinking!?!?!

I've never gotten more than a slight splash, even sitting in front. Not enough to soak through my clothes or anything, just enough to make my shirt slightly damp. It's not enough to make me plan around it unless it's cold out. Surprisingly I once got a worse splash on Matterhorn.

This has been my experience as well. Also, bring some sandals or flip flops that you don't mind getting wet. I would also avoid riding right before any dining reservations you may have. You don't want to sit in a restaurant while wet!

One of my kids' favorite things to do was go to the Club for a meal all dressed up, then ride Splash. Loved getting photos of my son in a suit, soaked.

I'm not sure it matter what configuration you're in. We've tried all different ways and sometimes get drenched and sometimes not. I'm usually the one to get soaked

im pretty sure its depends on the weather. If it isnt hot, i think the water levels are lower so that ppl in the back dont get wet. When its hot, they must raise the water level to get everyone soaked.

I remember it was like 100F and my friend and I sat in the back. We both were soaked all the way through. We saw this big massive wave coming towards us, haha.

The two key factors are the overall weight in the log and how high you can keep the front of the log. Putting the "smallest" people in front will not make a difference if you have 300 lb adults in the back and 200 lb adults in the front. The ideal is adults in the back and kids in the front, that will keep you most dry.

Also, the heavier the boat is, the more likely that a wave will slosh in over the left side of the log. I try to lean toward the right at the end of each drop in case that wave comes sloshing in.

I agree with this. Las time I went I asked for the front seat and got drenched to the point of having to go to the hotel and take a shower. It was like I went swimming with my clothes on but I found it fun. So if you don't want to get wet ask for a back seat.

I laughed out loud when I saw the title of this. Yeah, you get wet. I have heard of these mythical creatures who come off dry as a bone, however, I have never seen it nor experienced it. I always get drenched front seat, back seat, middle seat, doesn't matter. I try to wear clothes I know will dry fast. Rule #1 for me, no jeans when riding Splash.

We went on one night thinking it was fine to get wet because we were leaving. However, we came off that ride absolutely soaked to the bone. We had an hour ride home so we actually went over to Pooh Corner and bought pajamas for the ride home.

I've been drenched front & back, and had rides where I was barely splashed! Plan on being soaked. Be happy if you're not!

The best bet is to ask for a back seat. But even then you could get wet depending on how the weight is distributed on the logs. When we are hot and really WANT to get wet it seems we stay dry. When the weather is cooler or it's later at night it seems we'll unexpectedly get wetter than we planned.

Be prepared to sit on a wet seat. Next time I am going to carry a small towel to wipe it off. I always wear flip flops because my shoes would take two days to dry out. And I find that if I prop my feet up on the rails under the side of the boat, there is less chance of my feet getting wet. But even if you do get very wet, you will dry off quickly in the summer.

I got drenched last time, sat on a bench in the sun while DD and DH rode Pooh - I was not the only one with my shoes off trying to get a little dry ;)
