Do you find the animal backpack/harnesses too hot?

I don't have any experience with them...but I think your instincts are right. It would be like us wearing a fur vest in the middle of summer.
That doesn't sound fun.

I was thinking the same thing. I am taking DNiece 2.5 in June and have the puppy one. I found a cute little purse one at Babies R Us for about $14. It is plastic but has a belt loop on the back for the harness strap so I'm hoping it won't be too hot since the plastic won't be touching her too much. . Plus she can move it around if she wants to. She is on a purse kick right now and can't wait to try it out! I keep telling her it is for Disney but she doesn't understand yet.

Don't know, I've never worn one. I stay right with my DH. He can't ditch me no matter how hard he tries.

We've used them in June, but we stopped using them by around 11. It was pretty hot for the little guys!

We used the bear one from Target last May when we went. The weather was hot, but now like June weather, but our daughter was 3 and she didnt mind, but then after a while she did not want to walk anymore, so we put her back in the stroller.

I think I have seen ones like a fanny pack that have the strap around the waist. I was never able to use them with my children; they would just unbuckle it and take it off.

We used it in Sept and it was hot out but she wasn't hot from the harness. But she only wore it when she walked. If she was in the stroller we took it off.
