I feel very lucky, just to have been born in free country in a time when women have (mostly) equality with men, and modern conveniences make our lives easier. Had I been born in a time or a country where I couldn't vote or wasn't allowed to go to school and have a career, I would have been miserable. I would not have made a good pioneer woman either, doing all that hard work in an itchy wool dress!
I feel lucky to have been born to a couple of wonderful, kind, caring people who raised me well, many others don't have that.
I think it depends on your outlook, too. My mom died when I was 23, and I guess I could feel unlucky that she died so young, that she never got to meet my husband or her grandkids, but actually, I feel lucky to have had 23 years with the best mom in the world. Lots of people don't have that much.
I've never thought of success in my career to be a matter of luck, either, since I worked for that, but I do feel lucky that I was able to go to college full-time, while my parents provided me with room and board. It was easy to get a degree and get started in a good career with that help, and again, lots of people don't have that, either.
