Do you feel 2 Electrical Parades are necessary at MK?

Does anyone else feel 2 parades is overkill? I think one parade immediately after wishes would be great. Movement around the castle is a pain anytime after 8:PM. I think that would alleviate some foot traffic. Your thoughts?

The second parade is designed to help alleviate congestion by spreading the crowd out over time. Eliminating it on busy days would make the font half of the park completely impassible instead of just difficult to navigate

The second parade takes a lot of the load off of the transportation systems and the attractions. A lot of guests go on attractions instead of long waits for the first parade and don't want to fight the large crowds that depart right after the first parade.

I hate all the parades. All they do is congest walkways and make rude guests even ruder. And the CMs are not good enough at controlling people during these times.

2 parades are the only way you often don't have to line up super crazy early during the months they have parties at MK. MSEP is only 2-3 nights a week so they are packed those nights.

Not me. I will often hop in just for the second. Shiriki has a point about WDW CMs not controlling the crowd as well as say, DL. (also referenced in another thread recently)

The answer to big crowds in the park is more entertainment, not less. Having a second parade when it's busy helps alleviate the pressure that would otherwise be felt on a lone parade. Just know Main Street will be busy for an extended period of time and know how to be where you want to be before it gets that way. Then enjoy the shorter lines provided during the parade.

I really don't think having 'only' a second parade would work given SOOO many families really do head out immediately after wishes.

I think it's a great crowd strategy to get some guests out after the parade, and more after the fireworks, leaving a much more managable amount for an exodus an hour after that. No point in sending all of the guests out at the exact same time and choke the transportation systems!

MSEP is one of my all-time favorites! Having 2 shows made our last evening in the World a magical one ... the earlier show was canceled due to rain and my DD7 was absolutely bummed but by the 2nd showtime, conditions had improved so the parade was able to run that night ... I'm all for 2 showtimes!!

We don't even bother with that first parade. We watch wishes from fantasy land which is very cool because they're right overhead. Then the hub clears out and we cruise right up and watch the second castle show and parade and it's much less congested.

We don't even go to the parades anymore, so it would make no difference to me, other than having to plan where I can walk.

For the first time last week I did the 2nd show... so great. After wishes we scoped out a spot and stood back at the rail while the mass crowd passes then about 15 min we sat down right by Casey's Corner. We didn't have to wait 1.5+ hours for that spot as we would of for the early show. We got on a ton of rides during the first parade.

Foot traffic is going to be crazy either way. It would just push back said traffic about an hour and cause major problems getting people out of the street to start the parade.
