Do you ever find yourself making advance dining reservations for restuarants you haven't been to (or been to in a while) because you want to try something new but find yourself cancelling those and making new ADR for restuarants you've been to 6 times or more?

We have a very short trip. Want only 1 ADR. Booked the Castle for dinner. No characters. Not as much fun for me. Pretty expensive. Do not know that Princess Amanda will eat anything, although she says she most definitely will. I have heard that before. As I sat through an entire dinner w/ her sulking. Now thinking I want to change to CP or LTT. Been to both of those. Any advice? This is driving me nuts! I printed the menus and will talk to them tonight. I know the castle is a great experience, and I was so happy to get a reservation but I just don't know if I'll be happy w/ that. :confused3

Yes, I have done that too many times. I made myself a promise to try at least one new place per trip tho & we discovered some new favorites that way. There are so many great places to dine, I don't want to miss them.

I say go for the new experience (esp the Castle. It's so fun to dine in there!) Even if it's not your favorite one, it's still just a meal & you can chalk it up as a learning experience.

We've been to WDW four times and have made ADRs for the Brown Derby each time. Everytime something has happened and we've not got to go there. Maybe subconsiously I don't really want to go. The first time it rained hard and we decided to go back to the room and change instead of waiting at DS for dinner. We ate at WCC which became a favorite and to which we have returned. The second time Dniece had a meltdown an hour before our seating time and we didn't make it (had room service). The third time we were with a group that decided they would rather go to Sci Fi, there was an opening so thats where we went. And last time we had dinner ressies, went back to the hotel in the afternoon and ended up eating at Jiko instead. Jiko has become another "must do" for us. We're going to try one more time this next trip, but I think we'll try lunch instead. Maybe that will help us get there.

Yes, this is turning out to be the most challenging element of this year's trip for us. We are making every effort to try new restaurants, but our old favorites always seem to make it back in our ADR lists. Re: the castle, I think you should try it. I go with a girlfriend, who LOVES it in there. Personally, I could care less, but in recent trips, it has grown on me. We go for the atmosphere, not so much the food. Now it just doesn't seem like a WDW trip without a meal at the castle.
