My dh says I have a language of my own and only the people who know me best understand it.

My nickname is Sam, so ds calls my language SAMINESE.

Do you make up words? S

Oh Yeah!!!

I do it all the time, it drives my kids nuts. :p :D

Yup....grismal is one of the family favourites. Woke up one gloomy, grey, wet day...looked out the window and said "what a grismal day". They all looked at me, laughed, told me that wasn't a word and have used it ever since! :p

Yeah, my most famous word is Hank. I actually know people that use it now. If someone is acting silly, I will call them a "Hank". If something bad happens to me, I say "I got Hanked". It is a multi purpose word. ;)

Come ON you guys...SHARE your made-up words!
I told ya mine.... :p

yeah.. nocka! i dunno what it means, it could be anything!!

Don't know where I got it from but I say SCHNIKES quite a bit. Tickles my DH when I do. He thought I stole it from Velma on Scobby Doo, but I told him she says JENKIES !! :jester: :p

Mine are more of a spur of the moment thing. When I can't get the word out I'm trying to say.

my boyfriend makes up all sorts of nicknames. weird ones too. he calls me bopaloopa and our DS snorkbelly. he makes them up for everyone he meets. ya'll are collectively known as my disney friends. LOL...

Well, I use FRIBBLE quite a bit instead of an expletive. When my son was small I used to make up names for imaginary pets. We kept red and blue UBAS in our pockets. They were very mischievious creatures. I also used to make up just funny sounding names to get him to laugh when he was in a bad mood. There was Benny Botts and Chief Sitting Comquat. There were others, but I forget. My son is now 30! LOL

My DD had made up a few.........the one I think of first (maybe becasue it is applicable to my life a lot ;) ) is:

"interstressing"

to describe something that stresses you out, but is rather interesting............

Oh I make up new words all the time. Some make sense, some don't...which is good when you are referring to body parts ;)

I have been known to combine a Spanish word and an English word sometimes when I am stuck in either language...or latanize an English word...I know I am weird what can I say???

Yes, one of my favorite nonsense terms is paniscular verticulude--it has no meaning, but I get the funniest understanding (serious) looks sometimes when I bring it up in a conversation.

DD invented the word "dumassity"(pronounced kinda like capacity). When someone is being stupid, they have a high level of dummassity.

Here are a couple at the top of my 'noodle':

REAL WORD~~SANDRA WORD
pernickety = perSnickety
organized = orgaZZed

I also call everybody BUDDY.

I annoyingly say "In Sandra World...." a lot.

I give EVERYONE dumb nicknames:

There is a lady who walks all over my neighbourhood, but goes nowhere ~ I call her Walking Lady.

Anytime we are at a theme park which requires a map, I call dh Map Boy.

As a matter of fact, I attach the word BOY to everything dh does. Today he is BIKE BOY (he's out cycling), later he'll be SHOWER BOY, followed by TAKE ME TO DINNER BOY, then finally NAP BOY!
