Do you ever get tired of

People insinuating that you are less intelligent or not raised properly because of your beliefs, viewpoints, or habits? Or that you are a person with less worth because you have a different stance on issues than that person does?

I just can't help but wonder if people stopped being so sanctimonious sometimes, the world would be a better place.

It seems like I come across more and more people that think they're better than that wherever I go lately, and it makes me sad.

I don't experience it as much here on the boards but in my real personal life....you betchya and I bring it to their attention too!!!!! Really pisses me off, especially when men think they are more intelligent or know more than me.....just because I am a woman does NOT mean I don't know anything thank you very much!!!!! And then I usually slap them with something that will surprise them that I know!

I don't find that here on the Dis much, but I do in real life. I am rarely taken seriously, and many times it is assumed I don't quite know enough. I think it has something to do with my quiet demeanor and my small stature and young looks. As I said in a previous thread, I don't stick up for myself often, so am considered dumb because I give in so fast. My boss is a great lady, but thinks I am weak because of my religious beliefs. She thinks I rely too much on God and church and not enough on myself. However, this does not mean she treats me badly, she just thinks it's a cop-out.
