I've been calling the Dining line twice a day for the last week, and i just got off again, of course with no luck getting The Garden Grill or Coral Reef for dinner on 9/20. But, she didnt even ask dinner or lunch or party size, just said "no sorry no availability that day." And that was it. I just kind of paused and said "okay thanks" and hung up. Sometimes i feel like some of the CM's dont really care or i guess just care enough to look for your ADR. I hear of people getting these insane ADR's (that im sure they are thrilled about like a party of 7 for Le Cellier for dinner!!! :hyper: ) and im just wondering how in the world can i not find one with two people!!! And when i get a CM that acts like that, i feel like maybe it's not me, it may be the CM!!! Any advice?? Keep calling back??? :confused3 TIA! :goodvibes

1) When you bring up an eatery and date, you see ALL the open tables.
. . . table size (2, 4, 6, 8, etc seats per table)
. . . table time (1:00, 1:15, etc from open to last ADR))
. . . number of table for each of the above
. . . any overbooked times and tables
2) So, to say no availability is a just phrase, and can be seen at a FAST glance.

I'd call back.

Let me tell you my "CM doesnt care" story.

It was the first year ASmovies opened, and we were there in early November. We decide to extend our stay - a few days into our trip. I walked down to the front desk and asked about extending the stay.

She said - sorry, we're all booked. I answered - you dont know days Im needing, or when Im checking out....how do you know youre booked. She said because she just 'knew'. Hmph...okay.

Funny - when I went to the room and called CRO - they had PLENTY of rooms. I was ticked. Thats the ONLY CM I ever "told on".

Then my mom (who has since passed, so this makes me giggle started singing this while we were laying in bed, about to hit the sack)

Zip a dee doo dah - Zip a dee aye
No you cant extend your stay
Pack up your stuff now, and go away
Zip a dee doo dah - Zip a dee aye.

I almost peed my pants while she was singing it. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

SO yes - call again. Just because theyre CM's - doesnt mean theyre not human. Lazy/Tired/Overworked....whatever. Call again. :thumbsup2

That is a cute story and a nice way to remember your mom. :goodvibes

Oh goodness, you Mom sounds like she was a character. :) That is a great song and terrific memory. :)

I had something similar to your story happen, I was at Boardwalk Villas and decided to add a day, I went to the front desk and they said pretty much the same "no, you can't, we're full, there will be nothing!" I went upstairs, called CRO and got a room no problem. I even ended up staying in the same one.

I've never had any problems with the CMs that take ADRs though.

i've felt the CM wasn't checking our ADR when i've called to cancel one - it's like "ok, thanks for calling, blah blah blah, get off the phone..." :lmao:

It's extremely easy to check on a day, and that time is I believe during free dining, where those two restaurants are sold out nearly every night.

I must just get very lucky with CM.....over the past 4 yrs when ive been theon planning the trips, ive always been able to get the room i want adn the ADRs i want with very helpful CMs......i have also been ablet o extned 3 of our 6 last vacations when we got there with no problems....i hope my luck continues for this trip (i already have my room adn all ADRs)

I called a few weeks ago to change some ADRs. Once I got my new ones, I said "now I need to cancel my old ones, do you need the confirmation numbers?" She actually said, 'are you sure you want to, you might want another option that day". I asked if it wasn't against the rules to have more than one ADR for the same meal slot and she said, "oh yeah, well don't worry about it, I'll go back and cancel the ones you don't want". I said "wait a minute, I'm on the DxDDP and have three meals a day scheduled for most days, don't you want to know which ones I want to cancel". She said, "Oh yeah, just give me their names, I don't need the confirmation number." Well that's what I did. A few days ago I called back to change three more and the CM asked me the number for the ones I wanted to cancel. Since she was so nice, I then asked her if she'd mind going over all my ADRs to make sure my times matched theirs. She did so and lo and behold one of my ADRs was missing. When I asked her about it, she said "Oh I see that one, but you canceled it on xx date". What the heck! No I didn't. That CM a few weeks ago took it upon herself to cancel an extra ADR for me:furious: . Thankfully I was able to get it back!

You just said it all right there. A party for seven will get two tables for four. Which are more plentiful than tables for two. You problem is not with the Cast Member. It's with you restaurant choice, maybe the time you want, and more importantly, the size of your party.

Remember that Disney World is set up for families and those families usually need tables for four or more.

This can work the opposite way, though. We have gotten tables for two just an hour or two ahead of time. In the outside world, when the line was 1/2 hour for Red Lobster, we were led right to a table for two.
